Trump goes after Sessions over GOP congressmen indictments

I thought that Trump was going to drain the swamp ?
Perhaps he wasnt thinking of all his friends who seem to comprise the swamp.

His behaviour should not shock any more but he continues to hit new lows every time he opens his mouth.

Looking more and more like Sessions weaseled his way into the Trump administration for the sole purpose of undermining it. He should have been fired the first time he recused himself. Get out and vote, Republicans!

Sessions royally screwed Trump over, that asshole should have resigned. The first 100 days and 2 years of a presidency is way more important, I don't care who is president you don't fuck up the new president's first 100 days and 2 years by creating a gigantic drama. The guy is being a dick.

Who will be the new AG ? Manafort?? Hannity??

All these Trumpers mad because the DOJ is prosecuting thieves and crooked politicians because that slime backed Trump. This is what you call priceless corruption.

Obviously, Trump and his minions believe they are above the law. The rule of law is means nothing to Trumpists.

Trump blasts Sessions over GOP congressmen indictments

Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-California, and Rep. Chris Collins, R-New York, were indicted within two weeks of each other last month on unrelated charges.

Collins was charged with 13 counts of securities fraud, wire fraud and making false statements related to an alleged insider trading scheme.

Hunter was indicted for using campaign funds for personal use and were charged with counts of wire fraud, falsifying records, campaign finance violations and conspiracy.

Republican Sen. Ben Sasse, of Nebraska, also reacted to the tweet, saying, "The United States is not some banana republic with a two-tiered system of justice -- one for the majority party and one for the minority party. These two men have been charged with crimes because of evidence, not because of who the President was when the investigations began. Instead of commenting on ongoing investigations and prosecutions, the job of the President of the United States is to defend the Constitution and protect the impartial administration of justice."

The tweet was just the latest instance in which Trump has defended one of his political allies despite significant evidence of wrongdoing and a federal prosecution. Trump also defended his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and insisted he was unfairly treated, even after Manafort was found guilty on eight counts of financial crimes.

That's 8 FELONY Indictments.

Look at that. A Republican chastising Trump for trying to obstruct justice. Truly shocking.

When did the GOP become the "Champions of Crime"? Or is it only white collar crime?

What is going on here?

Can you believe Trump is blaming this on Obama and not the men committing the crimes?

They should not be charged simply because they are Republican.

They should not be charged simply because they are Republican.
For once I agree with you Deanie boy. ...
But these two guys are under criminal investigation. Trump is saying they shouldn't be charged at all simply because they ARE Republican.

Many Democrats were charged and convicted under Obama starting with Jesse Jackson Jr.

But Trump feels that Republicans should get a bye just for being GOP.

I realize it’s just the norm at this point for Cheeto-in-chief to make an ass out of himself on a weekly basis, but Jesus, can this clown even wrap his head around the idea of an impartial department of justice?

You can’t complain about a corrupt institution when you tell the person running that institution to do corrupt things.

I know, I’m just a fake news quoting, socialist parasite, but still......Perhaps some of you Trumpkins could ‘splain the man’s thinking to me.

Trump hits Sessions over indictments of GOP congressmen

President Donald Trump took yet another swipe at beleaguered Attorney General Jeff Sessions Monday over the recently announced federal charges against two Republican congressmen who had also been prominent and early supporters of Trump’s presidential campaign.

“Two long running, Obama era, investigations of two very popular Republican Congressmen were brought to a well publicized charge, just ahead of the Mid-Terms, by the Jeff Sessions Justice Department,” Trump tweeted.

He added, “Two easy wins now in doubt because there is not enough time,” before delivering what appeared to be a sarcastic compliment to his top law enforcement official.

“Good job Jeff,” Trump wrote.

Sessions royally screwed Trump over, that asshole should have resigned. The first 100 days and 2 years of a presidency is way more important, I don't care who is president you don't fuck up the new president's first 100 days and 2 years by creating a gigantic drama. The guy is being a dick.
And how did Sessions mess up the new president's first 100 days? What is the responsibility of the Attorney General and how did he fail Trump?

As with so many in the Trump administration, Jefferson Sessions will end his career in disgrace. Even those evil people and movements whom he dedicated his life to serving have turned on him. There is a new face for white supremacy and fascism now, and him and his hubris have made a priority of killing off his competition for the crown. Ironically, giving the boot to Sessions will be the first step the dotard Trump has ever taken towards making America great again (after it stopped being so in November 2016).

Goodbye, Jefferson Beauregard. You will be remembered as a failure.

Fuck you Jeff Sessions.

Official statement by the dotard Trump: "Two long running, Obama era, investigations of two very popular Republican Congressmen were brought to a well publicized charge, just ahead of the Mid-Terms, by the Jeff Sessions Justice Department. Two easy wins now in doubt because there is not enough time. Good job Jeff......"

^ yes, that is Trump venting anger about country being put before politics. Another faux pas by Mr. Beauregard.
