Zone1 the universe has a beginning

You should never be certain about there only being one answer when it comes to the universe. There are far too many things we dont understand. We dont even truly understand all aspects of radiation either. We dont know whats possible or impossible at this point.
What do you believe is the physical evidence of the Big Bang?

And yet they were remarkably accurate and well ahead of science when it came to believing the universe was created, had a beginning and logically evolved sequentially over time. That’s what the creation account is saying in an allegorical fashion.
Doesnt the bible say that god created everything within a few days? That is definitely not true, and dont give me this "whats a day to god" garbage. He cant be all knowing, create everything, yet also suck at communication with the humans he created.

Eruption from Another Universe. All Is Lava.

That refers only to this universe. It's also illogical; the "singularity" before the imaginary "big bang" was an impossible concentration.

Postmodern Science is as much a fantasy as Theism. Irrational megalomaniacs can't help themselves, whether they're preachers or physicists.
Do you even know what a singularity is? Most people don’t but I do.

The expansion of the universe seems like a good indication, but what do i know? Im not an astro physicist. :dunno:

No. Read it closely. The only thing God created is the heavens and the earth which most reasonable people take to mean the universe or existence. Everything after that is “let there be.” As in it appears. It does not say created. So basically what this is showing is that things appeared or evolved over time in a sequential and logical fashion.

These authors were so far ahead of their time it’s not even funny. I think the only way they could have gotten this right is through divine revelation.

And remember these accounts originated in a time when polytheism was the dominant belief of the day. So these accounts were radical thoughts back in those times.

How accurate do you think Jonah and the Whale is? I mean, come on man.

Google its meaning and then get back to me. Lots of people get confused because of the embellishments and allegory in Genesis.

The expansion is evidence of a beginning not the cause. The CMB is the evidence of the cause.

Quit using Ptolemaic epicycles. Your explanation is elaborate rigging, a contraption made up to fit the conclusion your Postmodern professors order you to come back to.
I’m debating a guy that thinks the earth is 6,000 years old. I think telling him to use his brain is spot on.

How old do you believe the earth is? Are you one of those too?

So you know which stories are true, and which ones are just moral lessons?

It’s more than that though. Yes, they have a moral element but they are also passing on historical information. These accounts are embellished to make them more memorable so they are easier to remember and pass down. Because that’s how they passed down knowledge 6,000 years ago. For instance there was a great and extraordinary flood that really did happen. It was probably the Burkle meteor. Was it exactly like it was described? No. But it was an out of the ordinary event that they passed down orally from generation to generation for thousands of years before they were recorded in writing. That was the point of that account. To pass down the historical event of an extraordinary flood. People get confused by the embellishments and moral messages but those were secondary to passing down the history. These accounts were not written as the word of God. That came later. That was Moses.

Same goes for the Tower of Babel which was the allegorical account of a noteworthy migration away from Mesopotamia.

Genesis 1:1
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
