Trump was getting kickbacks on his government contracts through his golf club memberships. 200 untendered government contracts were given out to members of Trump’s East Coast golf clubs. The ones which doubled their initiation fees after Trump was elected President.
The places where corporate executives, and big corporations wanting favours from the government hosted their events. Favours like merger approvals, And government contracts. In the real world this is called “pay for play”.
More Trump staffers, cabinet members, and campaign staff were dismissed, forced to resign or arrested and convicted for corruption, abuse of the public purse, or criminal acts, than and Administration in history.

Trump settled the Trump University lawsuit for $25 million. The State of New York shut the Trump Foundation down for illegal fundraising, illegal campaign contributions, and using funds raised for personal expenses. Trump paid back all of the money he stole and there were no criminal charges.
Trump has been barred from being a Director or Trustee of any charity in the State of New York for life.
No American bank will lend to the Trump Corporation due to his abuse of bankruptcy laws. He has bragged about the amount of money he makes personally bankrupting his projects.
His 2020 campaign had to return $122 million they stole from their donors. Why they are still allowed to have access to peoples credit cards and bank accounts is completely beyond me. As a former banker who worked in life for a number of years, retailers are stripped of their ability to except credit cards if there is a fraud case in their stores. This was $122 million in fraud and still they have credit card access

The Republucans knew all of Trump’s sordid history when they ran him for president and they didn’t care. Trump university lawsuits were ongoing throughout the campaign. Trump claimed the judge was prejudiced against him because the judge is the son of Mexican immigrants. He’s settled the lawsuit after he was elected president.
Republucans counted it on fools like you not even checking whether any of Trumps claims of business success and wealth were even true.
