First off, IOC did not ban this woman from competing, the US Track and Field Association suspended her for the marijuana result. However, had she tested positive for marijuana at the Olympics, she would have been disqualified.

In either case, marijuana is hardly a performance enhancing substance. In fact if somebody wins an athletic competition while stoned, it’s really fucking amazing.

The greater likelihood is that she smoked pot a day or two before being tested. THC stays in your system for days. You can test positive for up to three days after you’ve smoked.

While don’t agree that this whole thing is racist, it is stupid. Incredibly stupid. The woman set a new world record and they have tossed her off the team.

The irony here is the suspended Sha’Carri Richardson has handled the situation with far more maturity and class than many of the knuckleheads trying to speak in her defense as we see with this from the queen of the knuckleheads. I sincerely hope the powers that be will take note of this and consider reversing their decision.

It is not just racist, but illegal, immoral, and dictatorial.
The only thing the Olympics should be concerned with is physical enhancement drugs, which pot is not.
The pot was used in OR, where is was legal.
Many drugs like pot, have ritual native purposes, so it is racist.
Drugs are criminalized due to the fact they are a poor man's choice for recreation.
The wealthy can do skydiving, skiing, water skiing, skin diving, etc.
