$914 billion on health and $677 billion on education? Income security $865 billion?

Biden only can play with his dick as a fiddle.. Other than that, Joe Biteme is a blithering idiot...Like you.
Posting history says otherwise. Do spending bills originate in the House? Yes or No. Do Republicans hold the House, yes or no? Republicans have the power to control spending, they don't need to fabricate a debt crisis in order to achieve that.

The reversal of the Inflation Reduction Act, off the table. The work requirement for welfare, off the table or we default. Reversal of energy regulations, off the table. The only thing left, spending limits and just where they will be, which the Republican house controlled all alone. They have achieved NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING.

So, let me tell where we are at with an example. So, you are looking at your family budget and you figure out, well damn, your household is spending too much.. So, you set limits. Your beer money, well it remains the same. The bowling league expense, yep you keep that too. Spending on guns and ammo, oh that can't be touched. But you set hard limits on grocery expenses, on medical expenses, on spending on your children. And your wife, well she asks you, "What do I cut", and you tell her, "Not my problem, you figure it out". That is exactly what the numbnuts Republicans have done and only a brain dead idiot would support such bullshit.

You couldn't be more wrong. First, while it might not be Armageddon if the US defaults, it sure as hell will feel like it. I man already, US Treasuries that mature in June are paying over seven percent due to the default risk. If we do default,, then the interest expense on the national debt will double, if not triple, overnight. Immediately wiping out any savings Republicans thought they were going to come up with. In fact, their plan claims to save four trillion dollars over ten years, but a default would cost five trillion dollars, AT LEAST, in higher interest expense over that same time period. Talk about stupid.

And from what I gather, the big sticking point in the negotiations is the work requirement for some of those on public assistance. How the hell does that make sense. Again, default would almost certainly result in a recession and at least four million people losing their jobs. So, Republicans are willing to make four million people unemployed in order to force a few hundred thousand to work. And quite honestly, I think that requirement would open the federal government up to litigation. Besides, a work requirement for welfare has never been effective, for inherently structural reasons. The common sense approach is to eliminate those structural barriers to making work pay instead of just mandating those people work.

And now to the claim that McCarthy and the Republicans are out-maneuvering Biden. That is laughable, Biden is playing them like a damn fiddle. First, already Republicans have taken the reversal of Biden's Inflation reduction act off the table. The tradeoff is tax increases have also been removed from the table, a mistake if you ask me. Now it is just a matter of negotiating spending caps. But here is the thing, Republicans control the House and the House must initiate all spending proposals. Hell, Biden is just controlling what they were going to do anyway. Talk about a bunch of fools. All this pissing and moaning, all these political theatrics, for NOTHING, absolutely nothing.

If we do default,, then the interest expense on the national debt will double, if not triple, overnight.

Not until it matures. Perfect time to cut spending.

Maybe we deserve to. If $32 trillion in debt isn't irresponsible enough, how much is? Maybe your alleged default is exactly what this country needs to learn to live within its means. The long term alternative could be far worse.
Maybe we should, But every single American will lose out on some benefits they get from the government. Infrastructure, security, social security, medicare, military, schools. farm subsidies, disaster relief etc.
We are all addicted to what the government provides. We want all we get. We want the governement to cut what others get. That will not happen.
Wasnt there a Kung Flu released by China working with the Joe Biteme campaign. Yeah, i think there was.....
Mike is a typical MAGA minion - he blames - he is a victim
No personal accountability, does nothing to help himself - blame blame blame

Do you even know what income security means? Unemployment insurance, disability insurance, federal employment retirement benefits, you know, like retired congressmen. SSI benefits, I mean the vast majority of those benefits flow through Social Security and Medicare, off the table, remember?

And then there is education. I mean you got to wonder. The multiplier effect has always been greatest on education spending. I mean the single most profitable investment the government ever made was the GI education benefit after WWII. There is no disputing that. Those opposed to education spending are opposed to growth, period. There has to be a reason.

And health, really now? I mean we live in a fucked up country. Maternal and Infant mortality rates exceed those of every other industrialized nation, and even exceeds those of some swamp pit hell-holes.

Why don't you move to some place better.

What were the numbers in those areas in 2019?

Maybe in the past there was a positive multiplier on education spending.
Now all it does is inflate tuition and useless college administrators.

And health, really now? I mean we live in a fucked up country

Yeah, let's add a couple trillion more to the deficit, that'll fix it.

What is the problem? The duopoly was and is fully in charge. Nothing has changed.

"Fascist" is so automatically used in this kind of conversation that, like "decimated", it has taken on no meaning instead of any new meaning.
"Autoritarian" is already bad enough, whether it be monarchist, fascist, socialist, communist or capitalist. As money has no odor, authoritarianism has no 'flavor'.

The debt is being raised by the Republicans and McCarthy. Joe Biteme is not either going to sign the bill or default. There will be cuts to the federal spending or there will be a default. It is up to shitter Joe.
