Further, SARS-CoV-2’s closest relative, RaTG13 came from Rhinolophus affinis in Yunnan. That species is also reservoir of bat picornaviruses, with an example, Bt Ra-PicoV/JS 23013, from Jiangsu Province on the China coast and thus linking it to the Wuhan Huanan Seafood market by default, though not by proximity. RaTG13’s picornavirus counterpart in Yunnan is from R. ferrumequinum. Note that many of these sequences are not complete, which complicates the investigation, and as well, no collection locations are given, though an earlier date is Dec 2010 :
