The business community refused to do so, and decided to wait out his Presidency. They stopped investing in American jobs, because without certainty about their supply chains or their international markets, they couldn't plan for the future. This was especially true because Trump could wake up tomorrow to some foreign leader calling him an "asshole" and Trump could slap tariffs or bar trade with that whole country.

Business needs stability and certainty, and Trump provides neither.

I had no idea what "Most Favored Nation" pricing was about and so I found out Trump's EO would boil down to this:

Instead of Medicare paying drug companies at the average price of a group of industrialized countries,
Medicare would pay the lowest price among comparably wealthy nations.

The order will be effective on August 24th, unless the drug industry comes up with a “better plan”
that Congress can enact.
