Has Trump Peaked?

The fact is, everyone in America is on the government tit in one way or another. Some have no idea they are taking from others to the tune of $1.2 trillion a year, because they have been fed a giant lie.

The government's tit doesn't contain anything that it didn't take from the people so-if you're determined to generalize-it is more true that the government is on the people's tit.

Trump has gotten the leverage he has for one reason....people like watching him thumb his nose. It's been entertaining to see. However, those going to his speeches, watching when on tv, etc also remember his antics when it's time to vote. Is he REALLY potus material? No.
An uncontrollable carom into the truth.

I called it many many months ago, archive me is you have doubts....Trump could give two fucks about being president of the United States. He just loves the attention....I wish you nuts would give up on this guy, he's nothing but a snake oil salesmen loving the limelight and the thrills.

Peaked? Hard to tell. I believe the establishment and Fox News are going to go on the offensive and push Rubio. Everyone knows Iowa isn't important as everyone makes it out to be but they are not going to let Trumps 2nd place finish go to waste. Krauthammer and the rest of the establishment dopes are going to be all over this with their "analysis."

I'll have to see this play out to get more of an opinion of how all this will impact the election and Trumps national dominance, but for now Trump has a giant target on his back and EVERYONE (media included) is drawing a bead on it. I'm not ready to say he'll survive whats coming his way, and that has me 'concerned' as a supporter.......for now.

Shit just got real ;)
You and the other 'anti-establishment' types are going to soon run out of other republicans to brand 'establishment.'
They are like cockroaches and they number well into the triple digits.

childish conspiracy theorists and pretend libertarians are funny.

there is an establishment conspiracy in both parties-------------against Trump and
Sanders.

The problem is that the people get to vote, not the political elites and power brokers.

Predictions:
1. Trump is the GOP nominee
2. Hillary gets indicted and has to drop out
3. The DNC cannot let Sanders win and drafts Biden
4. President Trump in a landslide.

You're completely out of touch jillian if you fail to recognize/acknowledge the establishment Repubs/Dems. They are as real as sunshine and whiskey. Sanders supporters just got a nice taste of them in the form of super delegates in NH.

You missed the point.

The government is taking $1.2 trillion from the pockets of one group of people and transferring it to another group's pockets.

People whining about Obamaphones and food stamps are missing the beams in their own eyes.

I don't believe in losing elections. i love Bernie. but he isn't winning.

what is "establishment"? it's like what children say about grown-ups. it sounds nice. but really, some people need to grow up. I've heard rightwing extremists talk about how they want sanders to win because it will finally "blow it all up".

that isn't how grown ups think

and if you have a problem with the parties being about raising money, then elect democrats who will put judges on the bench who will get rid of citizens united.

You don't believe in losing elections and are more interested in keeping the status quo. Thats fine, but take a look around you and see whats happening. Dems are rejecting what the establishment is trying to sell them. At least that is the way it looks right now. If Sanders sinks like a rock in NV, SC and on ward then we can revisit this discussion and I can retract that statement ( dems rejecting what the establishment is trying to sell)

On the Republican side however there's a huge 'war' going on between the establishment and the silent majority as it's called. Conservative figures/pundits etc are being ravaged by people in their own party. You have establishment conservatives telling other conservatives what the definition of conservatism is and things are just a mess on the right.

The establishment wants to keep the status quo and the silent majority are saying "NO!!!" We are done with your bullshit and we want some one who will listen to us!!" Again, right now it appears thats what happening on the left but that remains to be seen. If Bernie continues to dominate and accumulate delegates expect to see the establishment step in and wrangle the election away from him. They don't want Bernie and be damned what the voters want. This is not conspiracy or bullshit, there really is a revolution going on in this country. Trump leading in the polls and a very real threat to win the nomination? What? How's that happen? A 110 year old socialist running roughshod over Hillary Clinton? Unheard of. Record turnout in the primaries so far? This is unlike anything we've ever seen...well at least for me and a lot of others

"blowing it all up" isn't a bad thing. It's a good thing. It is speaking to the people who want a government that is "by" "for" and "of"....it's been a long time since that has been the case. Thats how grown ups think

Well, according to this analysis, Trump's core base consists of people with high school education, or less, which is only 16% of the electorate. Also, of course, he has no minority base.

Trump is dead. It makes no difference whether he wins NH or not.

Here's why Donald Trump suffered a stunning Iowa upset when the polls suggested he'd win

Sometimes (ok....always) I really enjoy these old posts. I get to relive the crushing defeat of liberal elites and smile at their tears again.
But there is a serious side to this exercise as well. In looking back it’s easy to see the media shitshow in all its glory. Not only are the media elites dishonest but they are just plain tone deaf politically. It’s because they don’t understand Americans at all.
The article you cited predicts, with great gravity, that Trump will not be able to get the Christian vote.
LOL
It’s OK though. Not a single liberal will question their overlords. And so they will lose again...while the media tells them they are winning...which is fine by me.

The MSM has been caught lying with regards to Trump's demographic. They consistently fail to report that the education levels are very similar, but, most importantly, those without a college degree that make more than 100K per year voted for Trump and for Republicans. In other words, successful folks, college degree or not, vote Repulican and for Trump. Go figure. Who really are the smart ones? Is it the guy that has 200k in college debt with a useless degree working at Starbucks or is it the guy with no debt, who didn't go to college or dropped out and started a successful business?

I know. Silly me was thinking in terms of the candidate with the most popular vote usually wins. In very few cases in American history have presidents been elected who were outvoted by 3 million people.

So you had never read the Constitution or the Federalist Papers? I agree...that is silly. But it was the liberal media who led you astray here. On purpose. Still following them?
Imagine reporters so out of touch with the American people that they predicted Evangelicals wouldn’t vote for Trump...and they still have jobs!

Trump will probably win New Hampshire. But will it all be downhill from there? He doesn't appear to have the necessary machine in place to go the distance. His entire campaign has been built on keeping the media interested in him. He gets the vast majority of the air time, for free. The others have to shell out big bucks on campaign ads and go begging for media interviews, whereas a Trump interview is a score for a journalist.

I know the imminent implosion of the Trump campaign has been predicted on a daily basis since he announced, and I admit I am quit surprised at how far he has made it.

Is he finally done?

Do you know what the Trump phenomenon reminds me of?

This:

In the first instance, it is probably true that in general the higher the education and intelligence of individuals becomes, the more their views and tastes are differentiated and the less likely they are to agree on a particular hierarchy of values. It is a corollary of this that if we wish to find a high degree of uniformity and similarity of outlook, we have to descend to the regions of lower moral and intellectual standards where the more primitive and "common" instincts and tastes prevail. This does not mean that the majority of people have low moral standards; it merely means that the largest group of people whose values are very similar are the people with low standards.

<snip>

If, however, a potential dictator had to rely entirely on those whose uncomplicated and primitive instincts happen to be very similar, their number would scarcely give sufficient weight to their endeavours. He will have to increase their numbers by converting more to the same simple creed.

Here comes in the second negative principle of selection: he will be able to obtain the support of all the docile and gullible, who have no strong convictions of their own but are prepared to accept a ready-made system of values if it is only drummed into their ears sufficiently loudly and frequently. It will be those whose vague and imperfectly formed ideas are easily swayed and whose passions and emotions are readily aroused who will thus swell the ranks of the totalitarian party.

It is in connection with the deliberate effort of the skilful demagogue to weld together a closely coherent and homogeneous body of supporters that the third and perhaps most important negative element of selection enters. It seems to be almost a law of human nature that it is easier for people to agree on a negative programme, on the hatred of an enemy, on the envy of those better off, than on any positive task. The contrast between the "we" and the "they", the common fight against those outside the group, seems to be an essential ingredient in any creed which will solidly knit together a group for common action. It is consequently always employed by those who seek, not merely support of a policy, but the unreserved allegiance of huge masses. From their point of view it has the great advantage of leaving them greater freedom of action than almost any positive programme. The enemy, whether he be internal like the "Jew" or the "Kulak", or external, seems to be an indispensable requisite in the armoury of a totalitarian leader.

Our country has fallen in love with left and right totalitarian demagogues before, during other hard times. But we always seem to veer away from the abyss at the last moment.
53% Approval and rising thanks to The America Hating Left. It will be around 60% on Election night as he wins in a landslide.

Thanks Obama.

Dealing with Trump's election is a learning process. The majority of American voters voted Democratic Party, but the fly over states demonstrated that they would prefer a pathologically lying, narcissus, self-aggrandizing man-baby with a 5th grade vocabulary and emotional maturity to match. Few predicted just how low the republican party could slip, thinking that they had surely hit bottom with Palin.
