Telling someone they are wrong without explaining why is pointless. How wrong do you have to be to not realize how wrong you are?
It is pointless to tell them why since they refuse to accept the reasons as to why.Telling someone they are wrong without explaining why is pointless.
Just like many of your comments.
The Constitution clearly makes immigration a Federal issue. This isn't like the right to privacy, it is clear.
With that being the case a state is unable to determine who is here legally or illegally.
Besides, how is the country better off by sending the children of their workforce home to be alone?
Sadly that is true but a highly bipartisan issue.
When you subsidize bad behavior you get more of it.
While the feds have the authority over immigration, they are NOT performing their duties regarding it at all. Thus things like this need to be done.
No one is. Texas could implement mandatory e-verify tomorrow but they do not. Why is that?
Well Skippy, what the blue fuck are you talking about? No, that isn't what I was talking about but your argument is no better than one that might have been presented by Jefferey Dahmer or Ted Bundy.
Didn't you say immigration is a federal issue?
Why waste money "educating" people who refuse to be educated?Abbott says Texas could 'resurrect' SCOTUS case requiring states to educate all kids
The comments came after a leaked draft opinion from the U.S. Supreme Court revealed that a majority of justices were considering overturning Roe v. Wade.www.statesman.com
"Gov. Greg Abbott said Wednesday that Texas would consider challenging a 1982 U.S. Supreme Court decision requiring states to offer free public education to all children, including those of undocumented immigrants. Abbot said "the Supreme Court ruled against us on the issue. ... I think we will resurrect that case and challenge this issue again, because the expenses are extraordinary and the times are different" -- The remarks came days after a leaked draft of the forthcoming U.S. Supreme Court opinion."
Now, this may not be as good as overturning Brown vs Board, but it is a very good start....Most Texans (at least the real Texans) won't mind denying free education to a bunch of dirty wetback kids who can't even speak the language -- but the bonus is, it may allow states to discriminate based on race, but in a good way....As many had predicted with the overturning of Roe V Wade; that was never the ultimate goal...the ultimate goal was always what it was before Roe V Wade was ever thought about -- the goal is to return the country as far back as possible in the pursuit of holding on to the white patriarchy....or as Conservatives call it, back when America was great.
That fear of losing their hegemonic grip on power in this ever progressing country has been the chief motivating factor in how Conservatives turn out their base to vote for decades....which is why they no longer campaign on ACTUAL policies, but campaign on that fear....Just ask yourself, what is a Conservative platform policy that doesn't involve doing something to some other group that Conservatives don't like? Doing something "TO PEOPLE" is a far more motivating factor than doing something "FOR PEOPLE" -- if you are a conservative.....and their policies show it.
Yes but states can use the Federal e-verify system. Many places (that actually care) do today. But you know all of this already but your reflexes to deflect are strong.
Why waste money "educating" people who refuse to be educated?
Things like this are an all or nothing approach. It's the GOVERNMENT's responsibility to fix this, not companies. It's why the E-verify system is so toothless.
I didn't say for the companies to fix it. I called for the government to fix it by implementing mandatory e-verify and add very strong enforcement aspects to it. Texas can do this.
Stop people at the border and send back the ones who are here works without getting companies involved.
We have covered this over and over. You understand that as long as the jobs are here, they will get here. It is physically impossible to completely cover our borders. But again, you insist because you know your politicians are never going to actually address the issue and you feel obligated to provide cover.
Open border lib dont have a clueSo what do you do after they fail E-verify?
So what do you do after they fail E-verify?

You mean free food, a cell phone, housing, education, medical care and US citizenship for their unborn child is not incentive? They do not get hired. They then have no reason to come when this starts and those who fail have no choice but return home.
At least you would have done your due diligence. It is pointless to tell them why since they refuse to accept the reasons as to why.
