Getting VERY tired of liberals & atheists throwing out the Jesus card

Just stop already. Most of you don't believe in him anyway and anyone with HALF A BRAIN would know mixing religion with politics NEVER ends well.

You're an idiot.

The vast majority of liberals are Christian, even more persons of faith.

The notion that most liberals are 'atheists' is just another of many rightwing lies.

Utter and complete bullshit. Most liberals are atheists or have only a very tenuous connection with religion....

I agree, we are, but that doesn't preclude me from recognizing and admiring that Jesus of Nazareth, (the real guy not the one referred to in the "Old Book of Jewish Fair Tales" that was adopted and modified by Christians), wasn't a person of extraordinary compassion, vision and empathy...something woefully lacking in the latest version of the Republican Tea Baggers party.

And yet they embrace his teachings because it makes for good sound bites while they secretly try to figure out how they can get that camel through the eye of a needle.

Tough shit.
Idiot libtard commie.

Tsk...tsk. Now that's not very Christian of you...

I laugh when libtards try to characterize, falsely, how Christians believe. Most libtards have no clue.

They sure know who Jesus is, though, don't they? He's anyone besides the Son of Man of the Gospels.

To messers. Nehemiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins, & Stephen S. Nelson, a committee of the Danbury Baptist association in the state of Connecticut.

Gentlemen

The affectionate sentiments of esteem and approbation which you are so good as to express towards me, on behalf of the Danbury Baptist association, give me the highest satisfaction. my duties dictate a faithful and zealous pursuit of the interests of my constituents, & in proportion as they are persuaded of my fidelity to those duties, the discharge of them becomes more and more pleasing.

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.

I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection & blessing of the common father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves & your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem.

OK So you agree Clayton Jones is full of shit. That's something
As for Jesus, I'd suggest you actually read the book, in context, rather than rely on the meme of Jesus as Barack Obama but a little whiter.

Thanks for proving three things:
1) Separation of Church and State is not an official doctrine of the US but an opinion by Jefferson.
2) Separation of Church and State also goes the other way and the feds are infringing on that separation by dictating people's private behavior
3) You are a complete and utter moron.

First Amendment
first amendment: an overview

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference. See U.S. Const. amend. I. Freedom of expression consists of the rights to freedom of speech, press, assembly and to petition the government for a redress of grievances, and the implied rights of association and belief. The Supreme Court interprets the extent of the protection afforded to these rights. The First Amendment has been interpreted by the Court as applying to the entire federal government even though it is only expressly applicable to Congress. Furthermore, the Court has interpreted, the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment as protecting the rights in the First Amendment from interference by state governments. See U.S. Const. amend. XIV.

Two clauses in the First Amendment guarantee freedom of religion. The establishment clause prohibits the government from passing legislation to establish an official religion or preferring one religion over another. It enforces the "separation of church and state." Some governmental activity related to religion has been declared constitutional by the Supreme Court. For example, providing bus transportation for parochial school students and the enforcement of "blue laws" is not prohibited. The free exercise clause prohibits the government, in most instances, from interfering with a person's practice of their religion.

There are many fake Christians at the USMB. Convenience Christians. Using the "word" for political purposes. YOU ARE TRANSPARENT. WE SEE RIGHT THROUGH YOU.

Jesus would never say that.

Jesus would encourage debate.

Why do conservatives defy Him like that?

Because most Christians are long on hypocrisy and short on Christianity.

What an oxymoron you just stated...
Your statement...."See, I was right.":eusa_liar:

Religion is funny to me. Sad, too. A dramatic comedy. Fairy tales filled with propoganda key words and brainwashing and humans who cannot see past the grid. Its funny that it works, its sad because its had many real world implications in the negative.

At the same time, its served as a decent codified behaviour control for many too which perhaps assisted in our advancement overall and so i cannot be completely mad at it. Whatever works!

See, I was right. You have a cartoon understanding of religion which you project on others and yet have the arrogance and audacity to lecture others on what they should believe.

I always lol at ppl who think we somehow dont have seperation of church and state.

Id love to see the argument that were a theocracy derp derps.

A small Pike County church has voted not to accept interracial couples as members or let them take part in some worship activities.
In early November, Thompson proposed the church go on record saying that while all people were welcome to attend public worship services there, the church did not condone interracial marriage, according to a copy of the recommendation supplied by the Harvilles.
The proposal also said "parties of such marriages will not be received as members, nor will they be used in worship services" or other church functions, with the exception of funerals

Denigrating and destroying religion is one of the basic tenets of a socialist takeover. The state is to be your god, you are to worship the government and have no other loyalties or beliefs except those dictated to you by the state.

It is just that the Pharisees were not followers of Jesus.

Luke 16:13-15

13 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the

other. You cannot serve both God and mammon (money).”

14 The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus.

15 He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of man, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valuable in the eyes of man is detestable in God’s sight.

Democrats don't give a crap about people, they care about Democrat voters, and then only to the extent necessary to keep them voting Democrat. They care about making themselves and their friends rich at the expense of the taxpayer. The Democrat party is a criminal conspiracy relying on the ignorance and greed of their voting base to keep them in power.
