Getting VERY tired of liberals & atheists throwing out the Jesus card

I know that there are Christians who believe that abortion is permissible and Christians who believe that abortion is impermissible, so,

when I hear anything in any way resembling an argument that Christianity forbids abortion,

I know that argument has no merit. Especially not religious merit.
Good for you. Keep on doing the Lord's work.

So you can't refute the fact that there is no actual legitimately Christian position on abortion that takes one side or the other, and that anyone who says otherwise is simply representing one faction within the Christian faith?

That was my point. And it is irrefutable.

Like most things you know this one is wrong too.

Just stop already. Most of you don't believe in him anyway and anyone with HALF A BRAIN would know mixing religion with politics NEVER ends well.

You're an idiot.

The vast majority of liberals are Christian, even more persons of faith.

The notion that most liberals are 'atheists' is just another of many rightwing lies.

Utter and complete bullshit. Most liberals are atheists or have only a very tenuous connection with religion.
Where did the black churches in California come down on gay marriage?

Hypocrites are tired of being called out on their bullshit?

Poor, stupid hypocrites. Cheer for endless war while you tell us what Jesus believed.

What is he whining about, C? You know?

Paint My House said it really well but ...

1. Why is this in politics?
2. There are very few Christians on this board.
3. Atheists have been putting up with the preaching and bible thumping for 2000 years and now you get to hear our side of things.
4. If you believed in the First Amendment, you would be celebrating that fact.
5. What do you care since you're not a Christian anyway?

2 through 5. Get a grip

That's what I thought. You can't answer so you hide.

I gave you the answer dumbass. This thread is as much political as yours is.

Hypocrite

You were the idiot that injected religion into the political discussion with your own thread. A dumb thread, I might add.

In the Scriptures, abortion is a terrible punishment.

What do you think?

Punishment in one case, for adultery, and worthy of a fine in another. A fair reading of the Bible doesn't find a clear stance on abortion not because God approves, but because there is no Theocracy in the NT. What the state does is up to the state. Jesus said focus on God, or be lost...

So, are you saying that religion should not be mixed with politics? If so, I totally agree! I will gladly abide by that when those who believe keep it out of politics and stop throwing it in the faces of those who don't believe. In the meantime, I have as much right to throw out the Jesus card as anyone else.

What do you think?

The French were executing women for having abortions up until the 1940's. Do you think that's what Jesus wants?

Yes. Murder is specifically forbidden in the Bible. Why would you even question it?

As long as there are people in America who want to use Jesus to get themselves special exemptions from the law of the land then the Jesus card is already on the table.

You can't play a card that someone else already played.

To Liberals and Atheists, Christians are the Enemy. SEE Alinsky Rule on making the enemy live up to their own rules. In reality, Liberals and Atheists love to quote and site Jesus as a gotcha. That's it. If they genuinely liked anything about Jesus, they would not shit themselves and everyone else when Jesus is mentioned or sited in a public school.

Numbers 5:27-28

27 If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse. 28 If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children.

Teach Comparative Religion and we have no problem. Let a child pray or sing Jesus Loves Me in a talent show we have no problem. Proselytize and we have a problem.

And Christians like those here are the enemy, but they really aren't Christians, Jesus for them is just a Ticket to Heaven and they get offended if we even quote what they are supposed to believe, because they don't in reality...

You don't pay attention, and then you change the subject. Abortion as a capital crime is the subject now?

Christianity both allows and disallows abortion, remember? Should make your decision to convert an easy one.

If a Christian child sang "Jesus Loves Me" in a talent show, it would be viewed as a proselytism and you know it. Actually, the only way to get Jesus in Public Schools is to have an atheist or otherwise God hater do a statue of Jesus and dump elephant shit all over it. Then, the God haters have no Problem
