This is the kind of "civil war" I've always expected. There won't be two uniformed armies fighting on a battlefield. It will be groups here and there attempting to destroy infrastructure, going after government buildings, government officials, etc.

  • An expert on political violence warned the US could be headed toward a modern-day civil war.
  • Barbara F. Walter told The Washington Post the US is displaying predictive behaviors for conflict.
  • She said the US is poised for an insurgency, which is more decentralized.

An expert in political violence says extremists could be leading the US toward a modern-day civil war. Barbara F. Walter, a political science professor at the University of California at San Diego, spoke to The Washington Post earlier this year about the perilous state of American democracy in a far-ranging interview that trended on social media this week.

Wishful thinking on the Republican white-wing's part.

That scenario seems unlikely. Too many Americans are soft and weak and just want to be left alone to eat cheeseburgers and watch TV. The stronger ones are too disconnected and probably hunker down and just protect their own.

What's likely to happen is groups of criminals running around like they are now till it hits a point where martial law is called for. And with this current administration it's hard to tell how that will play out.

But I imagine will keep just trotting along as we are.

When you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

When you're selling books.......

Well. As long as she’s an “expert….”

I can kind of see it, with calls to intimidate Judges and get in the faces of opposing political figures when they are out somewhere in public. You hear dems saying "oh but its only peaceful" but they have no control over which crazy is going to show up.
If some crazy from the left attacks and kills someone it wouldn't be to hard to envision retribution from a crazy on the other side. from there it could escalate.

I hope so

A decentralized insurgency will be incredibly difficult to control and put down.

Too bad they can't get our guns yet.

:laughing0301:

The reality is that things will need to get MUCH worse before people start this shit, but once it does start, it ain't stopping until millions are dead and we are no longer a nation.

We had an insurgency back in Jan 6th, 2021 ... failed miserably, just like in 1865 ... I suggest folks work on their marksmanship, the death counts in these school shootings is pathetic, you're not going to win the rebellion with that kind of aim ... even Caucasians in Boston can do better ...

The French rebelled because they were hungry ...
The Russians rebelled because they were hungry ...
The Sri Lankans are rebelling because they are hungry ...

The typical obese American doesn't know what hunger is ...

It all starts with the aqueducts ...

Spoiled due to Monty Pythonism ...

The Romans are all bastards,
they have bled us 'till we're white,
they've taken everything we've got
as if it was their right,
and we've got nothing in return
though they make so much fuss,
what have the Romans ever done for us?

What have the Romans,
what have the Romans,
what have the Romans ever done for us?

The aqueduct.
What?
...they, they gave us the aqueduct...

Yes, they did give us that, that's true
And sanitation Yes, that too
The aqueduct I'll grant is one
thing the Romans may have done
And the roads, now they're all new
And the great wines too

Well, apart from the wines and fermentation,
And the canals for navigation
Public health for all the nation

Apart from those, which are a plus,
what have the Romans ever done for us?

What have the Romans,
what have the Romans,
what have the Romans ever done for us?

The baths.
What?
...the public baths...
Oh, yes, yes...
The public baths are a great delight,
and it's safe to walk in the streets at night.
Cheese and medicine, irrigation,
Roman law and education
the circus for our delectation
and the gladiation

Well, apart from medicine, irrigation,
health, roads, cheese and education,
baths and the Circus Maximus,
what have the Romans ever done for us?

What have the Romans,
what have the Romans,
what have the Romans ever done for us?

Brought peace.
Oh, shut up!
