This is what one gets when they get their “history” from right wing talk radio.

Limpballs peddled this deliberately misleading myth for 20 years.

Just remember that Republicans Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond shouted flagrant bigotry throughout their careers.

Thurmond was the Dixiecrat candidate in 1948, a dubious honor now held by Donald Trump.

Right wingers and serious bigot really love this right wing inversion of US history, because it depends on the false assertion that the current Republican Party is the one that champions rights.

This is false on its face.

First of all, slavery existed in ALL 13 colonies.

Southerners fought to preserve slavery. No white person in the South voted for Lincoln.

The GOP has hidden behind Lincoln’s legacy ever since.

The radical Republicans passed a series of amendments to the Constitution to insure civil rights.

And, just as promptly, ignored them.

From the Civil War on, no Republican ever offered any sort of attempt to promote civil rights or equality under the law.

White people in the South became Democrats BECAUSE Lincoln feed the slaves, passed Jim Crow laws, while the GOP simply stood aside.

When the Supreme Court outlawed segregation, Southern Democrats revived the old Confederate battle flag as a symbol of their opposition to civil rights.

It was the Democrats championing the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights act that ignited the steady shift of Southerners and racists everywhere that launched the slow transformation of what used to be Southern Democrats into modern Republicans.

Just about EVERY office once held by a conservative Democrat is now held by a right wing Republican.

Contrary to the lie the myth promotes, the attitudes and racism did not change.

Only the party affiliation.

Trump understands that.

Democrats seem not to know it, but Donald Trump won the election. He promised mass deportations and the country elected him. The message hasn’t gotten through to a lot of democrats.
Over a hundred and fifty years ago the US took away slaves from democrats and they haven’t been the same since. Aided by Biden, democrats are once again creating a slave class of people – illegal aliens. This includes murderers, rapists and criminal gangs.
A cabal of democrats is plotting to obstruct Trump’s effort to remove much of the illegal alien hoard.

With their Governors Safeguarding Democracy group, Democrats J.B. Pritzker of Illinois and Jared Polis of Colorado join attorneys general and other Democratic governors who have pledged to resist conservative Trump policies on everything from immigration to rollbacks on environmental protections.​

What better way to replenish the party than to import millions of illiterate and unskilled illegals and try to make them into dependents who vote D forever.
