everybody should be packing iron

Gabby is the one who refused to have the police there.
Personal responsibility and common sense, which she refused to use.
The liberal mind set is truly mind boggling.
Gabby - I trust the people completely, I don't need the police, then gets shot and then is trying to punish the law abiding people by trying to pass gun laws that will not work. :cuckoo:

Interesting spin. Now, we know that Gabby getting shot in the head was her own fault....

And there was a Mighty Mouse wannabe who hid in the Walgreen's. Like the nutters here, he was so afraid of the real world, he carried a gun with him to buy cigarettes. After unarmed civilians got the nutter under control, he came out and strutted around the dead bodies.

This is a spin.

Peach, you really need to turn off your AM radio. You are becoming assimilated.

A retired police officer, you know one of those highly trained, adequately background checked people gun grabbers have no issues with keeping thier firearms.

Given his age I would question his mental state.

The fact that he took a gun to a movie theater proves he is unstable.

There is only one reason to carry a gun - the desire and plan to shoot someone.

In Florida it's legal to carry a weapon into a movie theater as long as you're licensed.

The other reason to carry and why most law abiding citizens do is for protection.

Since you think the way you do I believe society is very lucky that you don't carry a firearm.

I think it's a little more than just wanting to carry. I think a person who carries must be know they are never to draw their weapon unless they intend to pull the trigger and when they pull the trigger their intent it to shoot to kill.

And once firing they should continue firing until the threat no longer exists.

If a person cannot honestly say they are willing to do that, they shouldn't carry a weapon.

I'm assuming "responsible" law abiding citizens would understand when to draw their weapon and when not to.

You mean like the retired cop who murdered a father of a three year old he was texting?

Just like all the other responsible citizens who use legally-acquired guns to mow down people every day.

Where do you fools get this crap?

No I wouldn't call him responsible. Nor would I call anyone that mows down people every day responsible. You have a fucked up definition of the word "responsible".

I vote democrat but I have a problem with their anti gun attitude. When I lived in rural northern california I think every household had guns. Same when I lived in Texas. No problems. It's certain low income neighborhoods in large cities period. Most gun owners and NRA types aren't the threat and neither am I.

What attitude is that?

The belief that some people should not be allowed to own/carry guns?

I have a problem with the nutter attitude that known terrorists, known criminals, known mentally ill, illegals and other fellow nutters should be able to walk into a theater, church, school, pizza joint with a gun hidden on their person.

We can't stop all the "bad guys with guns" any more than we can stop all drunk drivers but that is not reason not to try.

When I'm sitting in a theater and some nutter comes in to shoot up the place, I would want to be able to protect myself. I'm guessing you would just roll over and die.

I don't listen to any radio.
Lefties really don't seem to be able to use common sense.
Fact about the gunman in the Gabby Giffords shooting.

Joe Zamudio. On the day of the shooting in Tucson, Ariz., when Rep. Gabriele Giffords was shot and six people were killed, Zamudio was in a nearby store. When he heard the shots, he later said, he rushed to the scene. He was armed, and, in the flurry of events, he almost shot a man whom he initially took to be the assailant. Key word-almost.

In a news interview, he explained, “I was very lucky. Honestly, it was a matter of seconds. Two, maybe three seconds between when I came through the doorway and when I was laying [sic] on top of (the actual shooter), holding him down. So, I mean, in that short amount of time, I made a lot of really big decisions really fast ... I was really lucky.”

Zamudio said that he had released his handgun’s safety, but he never actually pulled the weapon from his pocket. He explained later that he didn’t want to be perceived as a second gunman.

Seems you lefties need to turn off your sirius radio and TV News.

If murder laws really made us safer, we would have zero murder in this nation.

Here's the thing folks.

I don't have a gun permit so I can protect you. i have one so I can protect myself. If you don't want to protect yourself and instead want to trust the cops to do so why should I deny you that right by using my weapon to protect you??

An idiotic and untrue mish-mash statement.

What you might mean is that you have a permit to hide a loaded gun on your person. Whatever you really meant to say, you're really just a murder, waiting for an opportunity to happen. (Read that again. Note that I did not write that you are a "murderer". I wrote that you are a "murder". There's a difference.)

I have a gun permit so I can protect myself. Just like I took self defense classes to protect myself. I suppose everyone who has ever taken martial arts is just waiting for the chance to pummel someone with some cool moves too huh?

But like I said if I see you in danger I will not pull a gun to protect you because it's your right not to protect yourself from harm and who am I to deny you that right?

But, I will agree that no one is gonna be able to get away with pelting you with popcorn or texting their three year old.

For one I do not have a short temper and for another I rarely go to the movies. It's cheaper and more enjoyable to watch at home.

Well, Ok. I'm on my way to the doctor today, and I am on my Home owners Association board and there is a contingent of people who are angry that we decided not to repave the streets this year. I guess that if I don't carry my 9mm to the doctor's office, or have a policeman escort me, I have nobody to blame but myself, if someone shoots me in the head!

Yep! that's just "common sense!"

I have ceased to wonder why the Right nominated and elected Bush II. They were using Right wing "Common sense"!

Well, I had better sign off and get dressed a little early, if I am going to have to wear my Kel-tec. It might also intimidate the nurse enough to make sure that she draws blood correctly the first time....

Violence is a problem everywhere.

It's your choice to not protect yourself should you be the victim of violence.

And don't worry if you are a victim of violence I will respect your right not to protect yourself and leave you alone.

Actually, they will be much safer when more responsible people are armed.

I think we can all agree that the shooter in this case should not have had a firearm. Now what is the minimum amount of regulation that would prevent someone like him from having a firearm?

Gimme a break, as soon as one shot is fired at anyone, you're pulling out your piece and blasting away. And I feel sorry for you that you have to live somewhere where going to the movies requires a gun. Poor you.

Like I said I don't have my gun permit so I can protect you.

There won't be any shots fired. If you're the victim of violence you won't be able to defend yourself because you think owning weapons is wrong.

I am not a man to get between another man and his beliefs. You made your choice so you can live or die with the consequences. In other word what happens to you is none of my business.

I don't always carry a weapon because I don't often find myself in a place where I need to. But if I ever feel the need I reserve the right to carry and I have followed every law concerning permitting so I can carry and whether or not I carry a weapon is none of your business.

I agree that it's a shame there are thugs who want to use a knife to mug me, or perhaps steal my car. In these situations, I choose a gun to defend life and property. Let's say its a perfect world and only law abiding citizens have guns and the criminals are limited to other weapons to carry out crimes. Being the good guy, again, I choose a gun for self defense.

It's my right.

It's quite simple- I choose a gun for defense regardless of the weapon used against me. For the latter is moot-

Lastly- Even if a permit is required and don't have one, I will carry anyway as I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6

I instead chose to live somewhere where the threat of violence isn't so great that you need to pack at all times. Poor you. Now do you see how the obsession by the NRA and others over easy access to guns has ruined the US?

I can't think of a single place in the United States were I have ZERO chance of being a victim of crime. Even the slightest odds are unacceptable for me. You find the risk acceptable, me and my family don't

I couldn't raise a family in the US, when the opportunity arose, we moved to a safer country.
