Does the USA need more socialism or less socialism?

No such thing unless you were a green company during 0bama and Biden.

Weird Musk hates Gov't, it's the only reason Tesla succeeded

As of early 2026, the second Trump administration has adopted an unprecedented industrial strategy, securing equity stakes or structured deals in at least 11 companies

Hayek, for one, also criticized corporate scams, and also had good things to say about Christianity. He agreed with Henry George that without a strong moral and cultural base no amount of ideological rubbish will succeed. Of course, the Randian sociopaths and psychopaths like to cherry pick what he and Adam Smith both had to say about laissez faires' inherent weaknesses. Hayek pointed out the similarities socialist corporatism and 'private' corporatism share, and of course these days we can note the enthusiasm with which big international corporations and Wall Street embrace the Red Chinese model. Hayek gives a lot more credit to Christianity for the success of western democracy and economic progress than most left and right wingers like to acknowledge.
Very puzzling the points, you extract from Hayek. Do you realize when a bird's wings are clipped off, it can't fly?

I read his books. The Fatal Conceit is one where he points out Christianity as a major boost. He's an atheist, so it's not like he's some evangelical just making speeches. Hegel hated religion and Christianity, but he also considered it by far the most advanced theology of all of them. In fact many real intellectuals admit the postiive roles it plays in western culture.

Why do you think its a puzzle? The Randian amorality many 'libertarians' and right wingers espouse is just sociopathic fantasy. It has a lot more in common with Marxism than any other ideology.

Adam Smith also points out why merchants and capitalists aren't to be trusted to maintain free markets, as they will inevitably attempt to rig them.

I don't need to extract anything; they write very clearly and aren't obtuse.

Far easier to follow when one submits a document explaining what you are trying to explain. Do you have documents to show here? I took a photo of my document about Hayek and am still working on how to post it here.

Socialism is where the Government controls the means of production

Show where that is happening

FTC, SEC, ICC, FDA, EPA, FCC, FAA, ATC …

… shall I go on?

“When buying and selling are legislated, the first thing to be bought and sold are legislators”.

You want me to type out Hayek's entire books? Why not just read them yourself? He has a lot to say on how traditions affect free enterprises . The amoral 'greed is good' types studiously avoid the parts where they need to adopt commensurate social responsibilities along with the privileges of freedom and private property.
