Does the USA need more socialism or less socialism?

LMAOROG. A John Bircher huh?

Words have meaning. If two people use the same word and define it differently, we aren't speaking the same language.

According to multiple ANTIFA the definition of "fascist" is "racist" and they offered nothing more than that....

LMAOROG. Sure all thanks to that. NOT to the Monroe Doctrine where the US invaded dozens of nations on behalf of Corp's, hell Hawaii became a state BECAUSE the nation of Hawaii wanted to tax sugar, so the US invaded
Run along junior. You should have spent more time in history class.
Hawaii voted overwhelmingly to become the 50th state, with at least 93% approval across all major islands in a 1959 plebiscite election. The vote was held on June 27, 1959, with 140,000 votes cast, and fewer than 8,000 rejected the Admission Act of 1959.

Who is Antifa? Who are YOU relying on for your definition of racism?

Personally, I believe Dementia Don feeding the birther conspiracy is a good definition of a racist

All Republics Go Bananas

The Founding Fodder gave us representation without participation.
The fathers gave us all a Republic. Had they wished, they could have given us a Democracy. The Republic does not seek a Democracy form of Government. We all must get used to that.

American sugar planters, backed by US troops, orchestrated the 1893 overthrow of Hawaii’s Queen Liliʻuokalani to protect their economic interests. Seeking to avoid tariffs and secure favorable trade, they seized control, leading to the Annexation of Hawaii in 1898, which solidified US dominance and the decline of the Hawaiian monarchy.

Nothing W did was actually conservative, just the opposite, and that's why the LBJ supporters, the self proclaimed sub humans, loved all of it, because they aren't conservative either, and most who self ID with the word conservative have NO CLUE what the word means, one of two types of "American" that dumb, the other being ANTIFA.
I NEVER say conservative since it us far too broad a term to bring here. I say Democrat and Republican so anybody can see what their platforms are and agree or not agree.

Try again. LOL, the fact that you quote a Japanese source when it was the Japanese who were thwarted in 1893 says all that really needs to be said but since you need 'the rest of the story' read on.

Key Factors in the Overthrow and Annexation:
  • Economic Control: By the late 19th century, descendants of American missionaries and businessmen controlled most of the land, banks, and shipping, holding immense power in Hawaii.

  • Tariff Fears: The McKinley Tariff of 1890 removed the tax exemption for Hawaiian sugar, causing economic distress and making annexation to the US a desirable option to eliminate those tariffs.

  • The 1893 Coup: In January 1893, a Committee of Safety, largely made up of American business leaders and led by Sanford Dole, launched a coup.

  • US Military Intervention: US Minister John L. Stevens, fearing for the safety of American citizens and supporting the overthrow, ordered troops from the USS Boston to enter Honolulu to support the rebels, as documented in the Joint Resolution for Annexing the Hawaiian Islands.

  • Final Annexation: While President Grover Cleveland originally opposed the move, the strategic need for a Pacific naval base during the Spanish-American War led to the official annexation in 1898.

The 1993 Apology Resolution by the US Congress concedes that "the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii occurred with the active participation of agents and citizens of the United States and [...] the Native Hawaiian people never directly relinquished to the United States their claims to their inherent sovereignty as a people over their national lands, either through the Hawaiian Kingdom or through a plebiscite or referendum".

We don't live in a vacuum, fool. Of course corporations with holdings did not want to be controlled by the Japanese. That is why seven foreign born and six domestically born citizens of the monarchy facilitated the coup and asked for US Marines to prevent the Japanese from taking the islands. SMH. STFU, and study.

States still have a huge amount of sovereignty. CA for instance treats the Fed Government like it is the outlaw and, in many cases, refutes the Feds.

I will be living in Hawaii in late July. My daughter asked me not to discuss politics there with her or her husband. His family is in WA and are devoted Democrats.

WA politics is a joke. Democrat autocrats in Olympia have passed two unconstitutional bills this month. The first, a millionaire income tax which is expressly banned in the state constitution and the second, the legislature believes they can overrule the vote of the citizenry for county sheriffs by forcing regulations on who is qualified to be a county sheriff and allowing the state legislature to remove sheriffs over the popular vote which is also a violation of both the state and federal constitutions.

''In the 1890s, fears of a Japanese takeover of Hawaii were largely used by American businessmen and U.S. officials to justify the 1893 coup against Queen Liliʻuokalani and subsequent annexation. While Japan did send warships and express interest in protecting its large immigrant population, the threat was largely sensationalized by proponents of annexation, including American Minister John L. Stevens.''

Contextual Factors:

  • The Overthrow: The 1893 coup was spearheaded by a "Committee of Safety" (largely American citizens) and facilitated by U.S. Marines, which the U.S. later officially apologized for.

  • U.S. Interests: Japan was not the only party interested; American businesses sought to eliminate the risk of Hawaii falling under any other foreign power and to avoid tariffs

What did Mises say or Hayek say? Did Adam Smith promote socialism? We have today a good video on this subject. Keep an open mind. Bias is often wrong. Some posters tell us we are socialist now. That it is wonderful. So why do they complain over Trump? He made changes to parts, but not to all. He has cut taxes. Socialists do not cut taxes, since they worship government. This nation was not formed to love government, but for government to serve us, not so we served government as Kennedy promoted.

Much LESS.

LMAOROG. Why does the right hate the 10th?

Well, that's bizarre. Oregon was always left of center, but now it's gone batshit insane.

What did Mises say or Hayek say?

Hayek, for one, also criticized corporate scams, and also had good things to say about Christianity. He agreed with Henry George that without a strong moral and cultural base no amount of ideological rubbish will succeed. Of course, the Randian sociopaths and psychopaths like to cherry pick what he and Adam Smith both had to say about laissez faires' inherent weaknesses. Hayek pointed out the similarities socialist corporatism and 'private' corporatism share, and of course these days we can note the enthusiasm with which big international corporations and Wall Street embrace the Red Chinese model. Hayek gives a lot more credit to Christianity for the success of western democracy and economic progress than most left and right wingers like to acknowledge.

Yeah, the US tended to its interests. You have a problem with that?
