The truth is, no politician cares about the environment more than a mile from their office or home. The only thing that can clean up an environment is a rising standard of living in the immediate area.

If they weren't hypocrites they would be calling for eliminating the laws providing Government protections of limited liability for corporate owners and the 'corporate personhood' scams and 'eminent domain' thefts of people's property. Then I might believe they really have principles. Patent laws would need to go, too. So would civil courts and sheriffs.
