Why pay attention to documented lies when Mormonism is compared to the actual text of the Holy Scriptures? So many lies, so easy to document.

Mormonism.....again? Men will become Gods. I simply consider the documented history of this cult and the fact that it did not come into existence until 1800 years after ALL TRUTH FROM Heaven was revealed to the Apostles of Christ in the 1st century. (John 16:13). The Faith was delivered once to the saints of the 1st century (Jude 3)
John 16:13
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

It is true that the Holy Ghost will guide you into all truth, however, this does not mean that men in the 1st century or ever since has received all truth from the Holy Ghost. If man were in possession of all truth today, they would be as knowledgeable a God himself. You are absolutely wrong that man has received all knowledge from God.

Jude 1:3
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things but to have a belief that things are true even though you don't have the knowledge. It is a hope that things are true.

Hebrews 11:1
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

A person can hope for things that he has some degree of evidence which gives him reason to believe. Some people can have false beliefs and other may have true beliefs. Both have faith in something but both are not necessarily true. Both you and I believe that God exists but there are those who don't believe God exists. You don't believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet but I do believe that he was a true prophet of God. There are many faiths in the world but when all truth is known, not all faiths will prove to be a true faith. I believe that there was a great apostasy toward the end of the 1st century and that through Joseph Smith many of the lost truths have been restored. You believe that there was no apostasy and that God's true church survived through all these years. Both of us can't be right. But we both have faith in what we believe.

Here is some evidence that you might find interesting regarding what the early church fathers taught and believed. and then later as gods?" - St. Irenaeus

"Do we cast blame on him because we were not made gods from the beginning, but were at first created merely as men, and then later as gods?" - St. Irenaeus

"Yea, I say, the Word of God became a man so that you might learn from a man how to become a god. So Heraclitus was right when he said, "men are gods, and gods are men" - St. Clements of Alexandria

"In the beginning men were made like God and that they are thus deemed worthy of becoming gods and of having power to become sons of the highest." - St. Justin Martyr

"The Word was made flesh in order that we might be enabled to be made gods....Just as the Lord, putting on the body, became a man, so also we men are both deified through his flesh, and henceforth inherit everlasting life. He became man that we might be made divine" - St. Athanasius

"But he himself that justifies also deifies, for by justifying he makes sons of God. 'For he has given them power to become the sons of God' [John 1:12]. If then we have been made sons of God, we have also been made gods." - St. Augustine

You would think that if these early church fathers were made Saints then today you would not condemn the members of The Church of Jesus Christ for believing in the same doctrine. Here are some of the verses of the Bible which teach us on we are or can become:

Psalms 82:6 and John 10:34-36

Yet Joseph Smith received New Revelations from God..........in the 18th century, and it just happened to mirror the same language and text contained in a middle aged translation of ancient English (KJV) in fact some of the Book of Mormon is a verbatim text from the KJV. Strange that God would use a dead language to instruct New Doctrine instead of using the universal language of the day, Modern English......the way Greek was used in the 1st century to record new revelations from God who would have everyone understand. The Mormon God apparently is not capable of translating Heavenly Text into American English.
The people of the Book of Mormon were originated from the land of Israel and likely had used the language passed down to them. What makes you think our current English is any more superior than what you find in the Bible. Do you have trouble understanding the Bible? If you do understand the Bible, why would it be a problem for God to give the translation to Joseph Smith in Old English? Sounds like you are squinting to try and find fault.
Stranger still is the claim that God told Smith that people with BLACK SKIN PIGMENT were dark because God was punishing them, and God declared it ok to have numerous wives........and then God changed His mind when society invoked Laws against such a culture of polygamy
God also set a mark upon Cain and his posterity so that any finding them would fear to kill any of the posterity of Cain lest a seven fold judgment come upon them. That mark was a blessing unto Cain and his posterity. It was not a curse. The curse of Cain was a separate matter than the mark. The mark set upon the Lamanites in the Book of Mormon wasn't meant as a curse either. It was placed upon them to keep the Nephite population from intermarrying and it was done so they could more easily identify the Lamanites since they did not follow the commandment of God and God did not want the Nephites to intermingle with them and cause them to take on their ungodly traditions. I don't find the darker skin of the Lamanites to be a curse either. Today many of the Lamanite ancestors have joined the church and are faithful members. I even married one and find her quite beautiful.
My God never changes..........how about yours?
The perfect law of heaven never changes but what he reveals things to man he may do so in part or be harsh when they are not willing to follow a higher law. God took away the higher law and gave the children of Israel a lower law that they were able to abide by and were worthy of. Later, when Jesus came he fulfilled that law gave a much higher law. In his dealings with mankind, change may be necessary but God in heaven never changes. What he reveals is always good and there are many great and precious things that God still has not revealed. When he comes again, he will reveal great things unto those still standing upon the earth.

You can point out faults in MY FAITH? Really? My FAITH comes only through the pages of the Holy Scriptures in a Sola Scriptura manner. If its not in the scriptures its NOT DOCTRINE. Look it up.....real slow. S O L A ;) S C R I P T U R A

Have you never wondered why I always present the Book, Chapter and Verse that proves your cult is based upon lies? Because the Holy Scriptures are the only source a Christian has to calibrate TRUTH. If you practice a doctrine not found in the Scriptures..........you are practicing a false doctrine, based upon the traditions of men, not God.

Your first attempt at deception: If ALL TRUTH was delivered to the saints of the 1st century through the knowledge given to the Apostles of Christ by the promised Spirit of Truth. How did Joseph Smith ADD MORE REVELATION when ALL TRUTH has already been presented that leads to Life and Godliness (Jude 3, faith delivered ONCE, Everything required by man that pertains to life and godliness -- 2 Peter 1:3-10)

First LIE.........Jesus never promised the gift of All TRUTH to anyone other than those He hand picked as Apostles.......Clearly Jesus Stated, Whom the World cannot receive . Read John 16 in context...........Jesus is not addressing or speaking to anyone other than His appointed disciples who are to become the Apostles of Christ.....He is not addressing the world nor anyone in the future. How do we know Jesus was addressing His disciples whom He was instructing? Read (John 16:17), "Then said some of His disciples, AMONG THEMSELVES.........What is it that He saith unto us; a little while and ye shall not see me; and again a little while; and ye shall see Me.........." Jesus was speaking to His disciples and explaining that He would send a HELPER (Holy Ghost) to them that would instruct them after He was dead.......

And How do we know that the Holy Ghost and the gifts thereof are not for YOU, JOSEPH SMITH, MYSELF.........or anyone else other than the Apostles of Christ? The world was never promised any Gift of the Holy Ghost other than Faith/Hope and Charity/Love, with love being the greatest. "Even the Spirit of Truth (Holy Ghost); WHOM THE WORLD CANNOT RECEIVE.........." -- John 14:17

The scriptures explain in detail.......with no ambiguity whatsoever that the Apostles were the only ones authorized to convey the gifts of the Spirit to others........through the laying on of their hands. Others have neither Lot nor Part in passing these gifts of the spirit unto others. The purpose of the gifts were to instruct the infant church in Doctrine as guided by Jesus Christ as promised through the Holy Spirit of Truth. These gifts would fail after their mission ended.....and the Holy Scriptures were completed. (1 Cor. 13).....that which is complete, the perfect law of liberty.

There are only 2 instances where anyone was baptized in the Holy Spirit/Ghost (Acts 2, Acts 10). Once for Jews/apostles and Once to prove that Gentiles were accepted into the faith of Christianity. The Apostles were able to pass some of these gifts unto others by the laying on of their hands. Paul gave Timothy gifts (2 Tim. 1:16) He gave gifts unto those at Ephesus (Acts 19:6). Paul looked forward to passing on of these gifts to others while in Rome. (Romans 1:11)

Not every Christian received these gifts of the spirit, that they might preform miracles. Example: Those in Samaria were "saved" but the Holy Spirit had fallen on none of them.....they did not receive any gifts of the spirit until an Apostle of Christ laid hands on them, the scriptures are clear......it is by the laying on of the hands of an Apostle these gifts are given/transfered. There was a man named "Simon" who practiced Socery who saw that the gifts were passed on by the laying on the apostles hands. He wanted to purchase this gift.........but was told straightforward, you have neither lot nor part in this matter......just as he would tell YOU. (Acts. 8:1-21)

You can point out faults in MY FAITH? Really? My FAITH comes only through the pages of the Holy Scriptures in a Sola Scriptura manner. If its not in the scriptures its NOT DOCTRINE. Look it up.....real slow. S O L A ;) S C R I P T U R A
So if you believe in SOLA SCRIPTURA then do you believe the following verses:

Psalms 82:6
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

Jesus surely believed it and told us that it was He who gave that doctrine and used it when the Pharisees sought to condemn him for claiming to be the Son of God.

John 10:31-36
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

So do you now believe that we are gods? Do you believe that God would give us a commandment we could not fulfill? For example:

Matthew 5:48
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Or would God command us to be something we could never be? Do you believe this verse which is also, like the verses above, SOLA SCRIPTURA.

John 17:20-23
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Do you believe that we may become one with God, even as Father and Son are one? Do you believe that God loves us as he has loved Jesus? It is all in the Bible (ie SOLA SCRIPTURA)
You haven't proven anything. I have showed you in scripture that Jesus believes that we are all gods. Abraham, Jacob, and David all had multiple wives. Were they all condemned for this practice? If not please explain why? You seem to think that plural marriage has always been a sin, yet Abraham was wed to both Sarah and Keturah at the same time. Jacob was married to Leah, Rachel, and other concubines. David was married to many, many wives. There was a law in Israel that if a man died, his brother should take his wives unto him and raise up seed unto his brother. Were all these prophets condemned by God for having more than one wife? No! This Joseph Smith wondered about and received revelation of the Lord and was command to live under the law of plural marriage for a time to fulfill the restitution of all things spoken by the mouth of all the Holy Prophets since the world began.

Acts 3:20-21
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

It was you who stated that all truth was received by those who lived during days of Jesus Christ and His Apostles. My point to you was that God is never changing in heaven but he does change some of the things he requires at the hands of his followers. Case in point as I have pointed out was that the Israelites were not given the who law of the gospel but received a lesser law because of their hard heartedness. Later Jesus fulfilled the law and thus not all things are or have been revealed unto man. All truth had been given them in the days of Christ and his Apostles but also many of the plain and precious truths of the gospel had been lost through apostasy after the apostles were murdered and church gradually fell into apostasy.

Jude 1:3
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

All this verse tells us is that we should contend for the faith that will bring the grace of Jesus Christ upon us. That is the key to salvation but there is much more to it that telling someone to simply have faith.

2 Peter 1:3-10
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Yes, the saints of former days did have the knowledge of what they needed to do to obtain salvation. However, they did not possess ALL TRUTH. One of the main things that was lost through apostasy was the priesthood of God which was given by those having authority and allowed those who received it to perform certain rites and ordinances of the priesthood such as baptism and the giving of the Holy Ghost. Without such, the ordinances performed by those professing to have the authority to baptize and give the gift of the Holy Ghost, but do not have it, are of no effect. Through the Prophet Joseph Smith, the priesthoods were restored, ie the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthoods. Because of apostasy, there are many varying sects in Christianity and they are not united under one faith. They do not all hold the priesthood and many do not understand the scriptures. What do you think it means to make your calling and election sure?

Eventually to all who follow after Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost, they have the opportunity to be able to become perfect even as their Father in Heaven is perfect. They are they who can become one with Jesus even as he is one with Father. They can become partakers of the divine nature and become gods in the sense that they become one with the Father and Jesus Christ. As I said before, All truth has not been revealed here on this earth. One will likely become one with God the Father and Jesus Christ after this life after proving that they have been faithful. It was you who said that the former day saints had all truth and it was within the SOLA SCRIPTRUA. However there are many truths which are not even related to our salvation that are not contained in scripture, so no, they didn't have all truth.
The Apostle Peter taught the people of Jerusalem that were Jews and others the following:

Acts 2:37-38
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Here we learn that baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost were to be given to all who repented for the remission of sins. These were not just apostles but were the lay people of Jerusalem. Baptism and the Gift of the Holy Ghost was to be given unto any who believed and repented of their sins. This is what Jesus meant when he taught that man must be born of water and of the spirit to even enter into the kingdom of heaven (John 3:5). All must receive baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost in order to enter the kingdom of God.
I just showed you above that the people of Jerusalem who would repent and be baptized would receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The people of Samaria who received the word of God and were baptized were sent Peter and John who went there and conferred the gift of the Holy Ghost upon them also.

Acts 8:
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

So NO, you are wrong. The gift of the Holy Ghost was given to as many as would repent and be baptized. It is being born of the water and of the spirit in order to enter the kingdom of God. Because of the gradual apostasy that occurred shortly after the deaths of the Apostles, the priesthood to baptize and confer the gift of the Holy Ghost was lost. It was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith after many years. A member of the Aaronic priesthood was able to baptize with water, but it took a member of the Melchizedek priesthood to confer the gift of the Holy Ghost.
You forgot those of Acts 8 who were in Samaria. Yes the gift of the Holy Ghost was given to many and not just Apostles. Any who were received into the church were given the gift. This was the being born of water and the SPIRIT so that all could eventually enter the kingdom of God.
He wanted to purchase this gift.........but was told straightforward, you have neither lot nor part in this matter......just as he would tell YOU. (Acts. 8:1-21)
All members of Christ's church were to receive both baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost. However, once the apostasy came and the priesthood was lost, only then did those without authority attempt to baptize and confer the gift unsuccessfully. Those who held Aaronic priesthood and Melchizedek priesthood were allowed to baptize and confer the Holy Ghost respectively. It was not only given to the Apostles. The history of the Apostles and their giving the Holy Ghost to others is attested in scripture but can you show me that this right was only given to Apostles in scripture or SOLO SCRIPTURA. Can you prove it was not given to others? True Simon tried to buy the gift but it was not to be had by money but only given to those who were found worthy to hold the priesthood of God.

35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

You forgot those of Acts 8 who were in Samaria. Yes the gift of the Holy Ghost was given to many and not just Apostles. Any who were received into the church were given the gift. This was the being born of water and the SPIRIT so that all could eventually enter the kingdom of God.

Cut and paste all you want.....but the Holy Scriptures do not lie, nor do they contradict themselves from one passage/revelation of scripture to the next, as ALL SCRIPTURE is inspired by the same God of creation. (2 Tim. 3:16-17) Truth does not present itself different from one person to the next. God is not the author of Confusion (1 Cor. 14:33). Keep it simple, when you read any scripture and stay within the subject matter and keep the contextual integrity of the book, chapter and verse.........there can be no confusion, as the scriptures are being RIGHTLY DIVIDED. (2 Tim. 2:15)

Clear, unambiguous to any moron. "God is a SPIRIT: and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth" -- John 4:24

God was never human nor does God, who is a Spirit, have Flesh and Bones...........as described by God incarnate Himself, ".........spirits do not have flesh and bones..............." -- John 24:39

"Now I say this (who is speaking? the Holy Spirit of Truth though the Apostle) brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption." -- 1 Cor. 15:50 "There is a natural body (flesh and bones) and a Spiritual Body. As God declares, "You are sown (born) a natural body (that decays and becomes corrupted)...the body is then RAISED (from the dead...referenced) a Spiritual Body....." -- 1 Cor. 15:44

When men enter heaven....those alive will have their bodies changed from flesh and blood to an incorruptible body"....in the twinkling of an eye...." at the last Trump/Judgment. Why must the bodies change from flesh and blood? We have born the earthly flesh while living......we shall also bear the image of the heavenly (heaven consists of spiritual beings........) For this corrupted flesh/body (made in a state of decay since birth) must put on incorruption (a heavenly body).....the mortal must put on immortality (1 Cor. 15:53)

There is, "One Body, and One Spirit.........One Lord (Jesus Christ), One Faith, One Baptism, ONE GOD AND FATHER OF ALL (one...not many but ONE)........" -- Eph. 4:4-6

The Mormon brings up Ps. 82:6 and Compares it to John 10:34-35.....and right away takes it away from its contextual integrity. First the scriptures use "g"od.......small "g" in referencing God in this passage, Why? The scriptures are clear. Jesus was addressing the Jewish leadership in John and telling them they are responsible as JUDGES to act on the part of God as His representatives on earth.......presenting the Law and upholding it.

The Jews of Jesus' day accepted the statement from the Law that described God's appointed judges among His people as "g"ods...little g. Jesus is referring to Ps.82:6. Jesus reminds His opponents of this Ps. Jesus straight told them.......Ps.82:6 belonged to THEIR LAW (the law of Moses) They conceded this point.......they....the judges were god's in the fact they represented and supposedly uphold the Law, as appointed by God. (such as the Lev. tribe).......

How do we know that Ps.82:6 is speaking of appointed judges as gods with a little g? When you read in CONTEXT AND ALLOW THE SUBJECT MATTER TO BE MAINTAINED YOU CAN READ Ps. 82:2-4, "How long will you JUDGE unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Give justice to the weak and fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute; rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."

The Jews never considered Ps.82:6 to be "blasphemous", even though it depicts unrighteous Judges as gods (because they have authority to judge as God judges)........but they Judged Jesus with blasphemy because He said, I AM THE SON OF GOD........" John 10:36 Who is the bigger hypocrite.........the unrighteous Jews (appointed judges) that claim to be working for God and passing out His judgements of the LAW........calling themselves gods, or Jesus simply saying........I AM THE SON OF GOD...which is a literal truth?

Clearer? Staying in context Ps.82:7 the very next passage......."I have said Ye are gods.............BUT YE SHALL DIE LIKE MEN........"

God will not die like men....God is eternal, from everlasting to everlasting (Isa. 43:13) Men.....even appointed Judges will die like the men they are.

We know that there is a godhead which consists of three persons, ie God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. We know that Jesus Christ came to this earth and took upon him flesh and blood, or in other words a body that could die. Jesus laid down his body and took it up again which is known as the resurrection. Through his resurrection, Jesus received an immortal body made of flesh and bones to never die again. Thus Jesus, forever and ever, will have an immortal body which is part of his immortal character. Through him we will be resurrected both the just and the unjust. It is a gift of God to all mankind regardless of whether you are righteous or not. The main resurrection of the just will occur from the time Jesus died until the end of the millennium. Most of the just will resurrect primarily at the second coming of Jesus Christ which is known as the first resurrection. The unjust will resurrect after the millennium which is known as the second resurrection.

The godhead consists three separate and distinct individuals. They are not the same being. If they were the same being, then Jesus would have prayed to himself and also stated that the Father is greater than He which would not be true if they were the same being. If they were the same being, then we would believe that all three are resurrected and have bodies of flesh and bones and none of them exist as merely a spirit. This would mean that the Holy Ghost is not a spirit but is personage of flesh and bones as well. Jesus taught that the Holy Ghost could come unto them until a later time when Christ had departed from them.

The oneness of the godhead makes it so that the godhead is considered to be one God. God the Father is the head of the godhead and Jesus is subordinate unto God the Father. Jesus has declared,

John 5:19
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

The Holy Ghost is subordinate to both the Father and Son. Yet all three are considered as God in the Godhead. If Jesus only does that which he see the Father do, then how is it that he resurrected if the Father never resurrected and took on himself a body of flesh and bones? In my estimation, God the Father and Jesus Christ have resurrected bodies and have advanced further than the Holy Ghost who is a personage of spirit and part of the Godhead. Being part of the godhead, the Holy Ghost is able to prompt us and even dwell within us. Through the Holy Ghost, the godhead touches our hearts and can make us feel the truthfulness of the Lord's gospel. He is an essential part of the godhead and for this reason it is stated in John 4:24 that God is a spirit. Jesus, doing that which he has seen the Father do, has taken an immortal body of flesh and bones upon him and for this reason Jesus is the express image of the Father. Jesus not only looks just like the Father but he also has a body of flesh and bones just like the Father does.

Hebrews 1:1-3
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

For this same reason Jesus taught that if you have seen him, then you have seen the Father. Why? Because he is the express image of the Father. He has body of flesh and bones and looks exactly like the Father and does only those things that he has seen the Father do. Jesus is a perfect revelation of the Father. Why would God the Father have his Only Begotten Son and all the rest of mankind resurrect to an immortal state never to have their bodies divided again from their spirits if this was not a more glorious state of being? Why would God the Father need the Holy Ghost as a member of the Godhead if he were also a spirit and could perform the same function without the Holy Ghost? Truth is that Jesus, in his progression to be more like the Father, took upon himself a body of flesh and blood and was resurrected with an immortal body of flesh and bones and did what he had seen the Father also do and has become even more like him.

To the prophet Joseph Smith, the Lord has revealed the following:

Doctrine and Covenants 130:22

22 The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.

The Holy Ghost will eventually, when his calling is complete, take upon himself a body of flesh and blood and become one with the Father by resurrecting and becoming immortal with a body of flesh and bones. The mortal will take upon himself immortality and his body will rise from the corrupt body we have now to the incorrupt body we will possess in the resurrection, to never die again. Jesus showed his disciples his resurrected body:

Luke 24:36-43
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.

Here we see the resurrected Jesus who has both flesh and bones. All mankind will resurrect in like manner with bodies of flesh and bones. Their bodies will go from corrupt and mortal to incorrupt and immortal to never die again.

Revelation 1:17-18
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

When Paul teaches in 1 Corinthians 15 the following:

44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

He does not mean that we become spirits again. He is saying that the mortal body which has its life in the blood will die or be changed in the twinkling of an eye and go from corruption to incorruption and become immortal. Jesus shows us in Luke 24 that he was resurrected, not as a spirit, but having flesh and bones. So too did many resurrect after Jesus' resurrection with bodies the same as Jesus did. They were not spirits.

Matthew 27:52-53
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

They were not spirits but bodies of flesh and bones the same as Jesus had in his resurrection.

The godhead consists of both resurrected beings and a being of spirit. Thus God is a spirit and God is also a resurrected being of flesh and bones.

1 John 5:7

Again.......cut and paste and then leave all the contextual integrity at the door? You present a personal opinion concerning doctrine and then attempt to cherry pick passages away from the contextual integrity of book, chapter and verse...which details the subject matter being addressed. Something that God does not condone, personal interpretation (2 Peter 1:20). There is another message from the Holy Spirit of Truth........the Christian should not reason beyond that WHICH IS WRITTEN, i.e., the scriptures -- 1 Cor. 4:6.

None of the passages you presented has anything to do with God having a physical body........this information YOU ADDED by personal opinion. Show me the passage where Jesus said, HE SAW THE FATHER WITH A PHYSICAL BODY......you cannot because that passage does not exist, thus you use a logical fallacy/circular reasoning to conclude what you will. You attempt to declare something as truth without the evidence to support the circular logic, you begin with a preconceived idea and then attempt to mold the scriptures around your personal interpretation instead of allowing the scriptures to present the simple truth.

Example Matthew 27:52-53 does not declare the dead that arose from the power of Jesus' resurrection (you forgot to mention the EARTHQUAKE that ruptured the graves open -- Vs. 51) ENTERED HEAVEN......they arose by the power that God has over death, nowhere is it stated they were going anyplace other than back to their graves (HADES: the resting place of the dead awaiting final judgment -- Matthew 16). These graves were emptied in order to fulfill prophecy, proving that Jesus was the Son of God...the Messiah. These bodies clearly had seen physical corruption, thus there is no TEXT that declares these "saints" were conveyed into heaven. Death will not be defeated until Hades gives up all its dead. (Rev.20:13)

The scriptures declare that Flesh and Bones that have seen corruption cannot enter the Kingdom of God, its clear, and not taken out of context (1 Cor. 15:50). Jesus Body......was in the grave but 3 days and did not see corruption as foretold in prophecy. "But He (Jesus), whom God raised again, saw NO CORRUPTION." -- Acts 13:37 The scriptures state that even David......whom Jesus was to assume his throne, saw corruption (Acts 13:36) Why did Jesus body see no corruption? (Acts 2:31).......it fulfilled the nature of the text in Ps. 16:8-11. Jesus is the ONLY FLESH AND BONE man that walked the earth.....without sin, thus there is no corruption of the flesh or the spirit. Jesus became SIN for the entire world, thus the first born to defeat death........but every one else on earth sees corruption. (2 Cor. 5:21) and the bodies must be changed from earthly form to heavenly form, corrupted bodies turns into uncorrupted spiritual bodies (1 Cor. 15) Jesus sacrificed His perfect sinfree life so that others might live spiritually for eternity as He took upon Himself the sins of the world.

Jesus surrendered His divinity at birth when He came to earth in a fleshly body, as described in detail ........before Jesus came to earth, He was in spirit form when equal with God the Father, when He came to earth in the flesh at birth He took upon Himself the FORM OF A MAN (Phil. 2:6-8). Jesus had no supernatural authority or abilities until........God allowed the Holy Ghost to descend upon Jesus........the SON OF MAN, then Jesus began His supernatural ministry that lasted but 3 years. (Luke 3:22) There were no miracles before the Holy Ghost descended upon Jesus in the form of a Dove. God declared that He had ONE SON, His only begotten -- John 3:16
