Coca-Cola makes $10 billion per year from Food Stamps

Because we are the ones paying for their sustinence and thus it's easier?

Also since it's clear they can't help themselves why should we just continue to allow them to make bad choices?
Did you bother to read this?

It’s super easy to help everyone else. Just tax sugary drinks at like 100-200%.

Again, if people can support themselves, they should be able to make their own choices.

Think of it as an incentive to get off the dole.

Ohhh! another bullshit study!

Why do you want people to keep killing themselves?

Start with the ones that obviously can't make proper life choices.
There’s the contempt and hatred for poor people you pretend you don’t have.

You assholes are so phony.

Why should my federal tax dollars go to buying diet coke for poors?

Specifically. Why? Water? Sure. Why Diet Coke?

And that’s your real issue.

How is it a nanny state? It is government program, all government programs have rules. You use government money, the government has a right to determine how you spend it. If you don’t like it, you have a choice not to take them. Food stamps doesn’t let you buy prepared foods, it’s a rule. Soda is a leading cause of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, which in the future will cause health care costs to increase.

So by cutting out sugar drinks will save lives and costs later, why the resistance to eliminating soda from SNAP and will give them more money to spend on healthier choices. Not seeing the down side other than political BS.

There is the whole Diet soda drink issue also. Zero sugar yet some report it is actually worse with artificial sweetner in it…aspernine or something. I have had nothing but Diet soda for 30 yrs. I don’t know if its worse?

Pardon me, but that is a myth you heard about and decided to repeat with no evidence. You can't sell EBT cards, because the money is deposited each month. You would be selling a card for the balance of the benefits over months and possibly years.

My daughter was on "food stamps" when my grandkids were younger. She also worked every day while she received them.

The program is not perfect in any way, but it is not as bad as you claim.

If you got a card with $250 on it, the small local crooked marketeer can ring a sale for $250, give you $150 back in cash then you go buy your Jim Beam and Newports. I know, the card seems better than trading stamps from a booklet.

Big signs all over, EBT accepted at fast food burger joints and chicken houses.

Who gives a shit about “the food pyramid”?
I can assure you a whole lot of giant corporations producing really shitty food care. And it's the standard used to promote "healthy diets" and is a bunch of bought off baloney.
We are talking about using government to force people to eat healthy.
Nobody is forcing anyone, drama queen.

(The food pyramid hasn’t existed for decades, by the way)
Why are you so wrong so much?

The bottom line is that itemizing what can be bought with snap is complicated burdensome and expensive.

LOL, that's never stopped leftists when it comes to government before.

Really didn't think that through, did ya?

Only if part of the RMP program primarily for elderly and disabled

Actually I did and what I said stands

Itemizing what would be acceptable would be ever changing and hugely burdensome on BUSINESSES , not to mention expensive to update and communicate.

“I assure you”. I don’t care. Food companies don’t give a shit about the food pyramid. They care about selling food and making profit.
Nobody is forcing anyone, drama queen.
Making new rules about SNAP benefits is.
Why are you so wrong so much?
The food pyramid was replaced with the my plate in 2011.

The fact that you don’t know this demonstrates how meaningless it is anyway. Almost no one pays attention to this and almost no one follows the guidelines.
