Coca-Cola makes $10 billion per year from Food Stamps

If the people going to the store need a lawyer or decoder ring to decide what has too much sugar or corn syrup or is pre-cooked (frozen)? They can’t, they won’t. So many choices in American stores. Also a moving target. If an item is so bad? Why does FDA allow it? Why is it OK for non-snap kids but not for little Sheniekwa or Guadalupe? You want to legislate a Safeway store? I can’t figure it out! No one has time to read 1000 labels every visit.

Almost as-if they need a seperate store for assustance? A GOVT store, probably the end goal.

Who chooses which UPC codes?

I literally have been saying the opposite.

People don’t need to be punished to get them to change habits.

Whoever decided what to ban from SNAP.

You call it punished, I call it encouraged.

When we took the shame out of not being able to take care of yourself, we started subsidizing it morally as well as economically.

I suspect the figure is overblown for clicks but why the heck are sugary drinks even allowed to be purchased with EBT/SNAP?

And then taxpayer funded Medicaid pays to fix the poor's cavities.....We pay the "poor" to get fat, then pay even more to give them free medical care for their chosen obesity.

Food stamps should change from default accept to default deny. It shouldn't be "you can buy anything except XYX." Move to "You can't buy anything except ABC. Then make food manufacturers apply to qualify their products.

Everything the .gov touches turns out to be a grift. :eusa_wall:

Yep. Food Stamps should be used for food staples; not sugary drinks, snack-foods, etc.

Personally, I would be fine with allowing certain baby supplies, coffee, tea and zero-sugar flavored or electrolyte-enriched water.

Congress decides what to ban from SNAP, which isn’t much.

How do you write a law to ban sugary drinks? What about candy? Cakes? Cupcakes? Or muffins? Don’t forget bacon. Beef jerky.

It’s clear it’s punishment, you said yourself that the restrictions are incentive to get off the dole.

Stupid posts by stupid people. More power to the government. You can't buy THIS if we give you money.

Increase the minimum wage and let people eat and drink what they want.

They have been able to write laws for far more complicated things. They already ban things like pre-cooked food.

If you call trying to get someone to improve themselves punishment, you are the problem, not me.

Any food for the household, such as:

  • Fruits and vegetables;
  • Meat, poultry, and fish;
  • Dairy products;
  • Breads and cereals;
  • Other foods such as snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages; and
  • Seeds and plants, which produce food for the household to eat.

Households CANNOT use SNAP benefits to buy:

  • Beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes, or tobacco
  • Vitamins, medicines, and supplements. If an item has a Supplement Facts label, it is considered a supplement and is not eligible for SNAP purchase.
  • Live animals (except shellfish, fish removed from water, and animals slaughtered prior to pick-up from the store).
  • Foods that are hot at the point of sale
  • Any nonfood items such as:
    • Pet foods
    • Cleaning supplies, paper products, and other household supplies.
    • Hygiene items, cosmetics

****i see Cerals are OK. Is that Frosted Flakes? Again this is not easy. Apparently an on-going GOVT job to get down into each item detail. Then you get a visit from Congressman from Kellogs district.

Lookey der’. Bows & Arrows legal in Alaska only on SNAP.

Does Burger King take EBT SNAP?

The RMP operates in Arizona, California, Maryland, Michigan, Rhode Island and Virginia. But out of these six states, QuerySprout noted that Burger King only accepts EBT cards in Arizona and California.

Huh? Told you so,

You certainly can use punishment to try and get someone to improve themselves.

But you don’t really care about self improvement since you’ve demonstrated no interest in the topic behind poor people.

It’s about hating poor people and righteous indignation. Kind of SJW shit.

Is this a loophole? Dont know what cash APP is?

Can I transfer money from my EBT card to Cash App?

Yes, you can successfully transfer money from your EBT card to your cash app provided you have sufficient funds in your EBT account. Just log into your EBT account with your account number and password then click transfer the amount you wish to transfer and click confirm. You're done.

It aint chicken feed. That is 2-3 big store runs per mo,

Step 6 — SNAP Benefit: The maximum benefit in 2025 for a family of three is $768. The maximum benefit minus the household contribution ($768 minus $11) equals about $757. The family's monthly SNAP benefit is $757.

There is the whole Diet soda drink issue also. Zero sugar yet some report it is actually worse with artificial sweetner in it…aspernine or something. I have had nothing but Diet soda for 30 yrs. I don’t know if its worse?
Stevia is a natural sugar, low processing that I use but at times it can have a slight after taste. I find it works really well in teas.

Whether the other sweeteners are better or worse, I have no idea, I don’t use them because they are highly processed and linked to heart disease, insulin resistance and cancer. If I drink a soda or pop, it is Zevia, but I am no longer a soda drinker. My sister in law drank lots of Diet Pepsi for years and she developed insulin resistance, which is a potential side effect, that put her border diabetic, however she is one person, but I do know that research has indicated that is a possible side effect of long term artificial sweeteners.

Everyone is different, not everyone reacts the same to diet sugars. I do know that soda with sugar has increased obesity, heart disease and type 2 diabetes by substantial margins, one drink a day increase your risk of heart disease.

I used to eat a lot of processed foods, stress ate and it led me to type 2 diabetes and a stroke, I don’t wish this on anyone.

If I showed no interest I would let dems continue to provide for them just enough so they stay in squalor.

Because it’s not about them, it’s about satisfying your own indignation. Whether they’re actually helped by any of this isn’t the point. You’re helped. That’s the point.

Think whatever you want to about motives. Unlike you I am honest about my positions.
