Bishop Talbert - American Hero

Still mystified why the fight had to be over using the same word, 'marriage', but the whole business is so minor that moving on cannot happen soon enough.

He has obviously given it a lot of thought.A"choice between his God and his Church"is pretty strong stuff from a Bishop.

the bible is clear about gay sex, marriage and so on, so he really broke his own rules.

and your use of the word 'hero' doesn't apply here.
Thats a narrow interpretation. The Bible is "clear" about a lot of things but they are quietly brushed away. If you dont like it then look the other way.It doesnt hurt you.

The Bible is clear on how to treat slaves, and nowhere says the institution is bad. Great example for humanity.

So the pastor is committing "civil disobedience" against the church he serves. Why not just leave the church if he objects to maintaining Biblical teaching?

The church is having a conversation about allowing marriage. The Bishop is ahead of the curve.

Saturday’s wedding ceremony comes as the Church prepares to debate a proposed plan to repeal a ban on clergy members performing same-sex weddings

Yes, I saw that. If the church changes the rules later, that doesn't change the fact that he broke his vows. That doesn't mean he's ahead of the curve, it means he doesn't follow the rules of his church.

He broke church rules and Tommy will whine and bawl if the minister is defrocked. Wait for it

What part of the Bible calls homosexuality a sin, an abomination, are you loons missing? It doesn't say it just once it says it numerous times

Who cares what it says? The bible is a compilation of fairy tales invented by ancient desert dwellers who were most likely insane from the sun constantly pounding down on their skulls.

idc about gays, marriage or otherwise, they make up less than 3% of the pop.

hero should be narrowly defined or it loses it's meaning

A hero stands up for what is right despite the dangers to herself. (or himself)

he's in no danger, none, zip, zero, zilch, no chance of harm, nada, none, you have no idea what the word actually means, so stfu about it and apologize for being a moron.
