I don't see how the end of the ice age - which was about 22,000 years ago - could cause a massive flood in Mesopotamia.

I can see how an underwater earthquake could cause a tsunami but all of the ancient accounts are about floods. Maybe that got lost in translation but I don't think any of the accounts match that description.

Large asteroid or meteor strikes in the ocean or even ice sheets in polar regions could definitely affect global weather patterns. So I think that is the most likely culprit.

I already explained it to you. He was talking about the end of times and how people won't see it coming. He wasn't affirming anything else. The flood was an actual event. The cause and magnitude were embellished to make the account more memorable so that it was easier to pass down. Because that's how knowledge and information was passed down back then. Orally. Through stories. The same applies for the Tower of babel which was a historical event of a great migration.

Actually there is valid theory about that. There is evidence that a small object comet asteroid did crash into the earth during the last ice age causing a severe melting of ice that was huge flood.
