However that spread is a poor showing when compared to other president's electoral college spread. Obama and Clinton both exceeded that spread in each of their first and second elections. It's highly doubtful that those who regularly use those numbers as a goto answer to virtually any post will reconsider their continued use. Facts don't seem to matter to those folks. Somebody told them that quoting those numbers had some kind of meaning, and that's good enough for them.
