Voters yearn for the America we used to know

They did require more care and maintenance than today's cars. Sadly, people generally allowed them to go to hell, especially when it came to changing oil.

Here's the mistake the poster, and maybe you are looking at.
You are applying today's technology, and using it to compare today's quality and features to yesterday's products.

Sure, today's vehicles are much more reliable in today's world.
In this case, the vehicles built say during the '50's were a product of their time. They were NOT junk, in fact they were built very stoutly. Yes, their technology OF THE DAY was not comparable of today. This in no way means they were "junk", they were simply limited at the time for what they were intended for.
Do you think people in the '50's looked back and claimed the horse and buggy was "junk"? Again, they were built very strong, but like the cars in the '50's they were a product of their time.

Law abiding voters yearn for the America we used to know before the Great White Republican Hope was rejected by the will of the more colorful law abiding voters in the first week of November in the year of our Lord 2020. The expectation for over two centuries in America is that a sitting US President must accept the results of the quadrennial elections when they lose it and the states have certified that loss. When Trump lost the election our Constitution has it that Trump must return to ordinary citizenship no different than the law abiding staff that mowed his lawn and brought him his happy meals.

From the thread pyfta “Patriots yearn for the America we used to know” where no one has an answer why it should be no.

Now as for J6 and the fake electors activity to obstruct the peaceful transfer to Joe Biden, I ask this question of all MAGA:

No man is above law. and since December 14, 2020 why must we accept the Republican Party’s insistence that this devil is not to be constrained by law as the rest of the population must be.?
The problem is, we know what he did. The details are debatable, but overall, most of us saw what went down. And most people have already decided whether they're ok with it. A conviction will inevitably be seen as a political ploy by Trump supporters and only make them even more angry and afraid - Trump's bread and butter. It will throw gasoline on a fire that, if Dems had merely "moved on", would probably be dying out by now.

Maybe for you, but most Americans were happy during that post-war era. It was a time where this country was in it's stride, and we believed we could accomplish anything.
You sound like a bitter old man who was jealous of the happiness and accomplishment around you at the time, and so the only way you can deal with it and justify it, is to strike out at it, and try and claim it was the 'era' that was bad, in order to justify your own failures and unhappiness. In psychology, we call it 'Narcissistic rage', and based on your posts, it's what you're dealing with.
That's your take. I saw a ton of unhappy people working jobs they hated. 2 weeks paid vacation. Maybe. Paid just enough to scrape by. I think the mid to late 60s were more of a "stride".

My dad was a kid in the 50's and still talks about how great it was.
(1) I was a teenager in the 1950s.

(2) In some ways, they were great.

(3) No one talked about "crime."

(4) Ordinary people did not have home alarms.

(5) Downtown was a busy and safe place.

(6) You could safely ride public transportation.

(7) Prices for everything (cars, houses, food, etc.) were reasonable.

(8) CEOs did not make billions.

(9) And many people still took choo choo trains!

I too was a teen. Yes there were some good things. But there were alot of people struggling just like today. Alot of empty hollow people. Wake up, report to the job, go home, sneak a few drinks. A ton of alcoholism. There should have been more workers standing up versus their employers. Compliancy got them a road to nowhere.

True that wages were low, but everyone seemed to be in the same boat. We still had tons of fun.

I will say this, however. If you had a job, a car, and were acceptably good looking and sociable, you had it made.

So, in order to get this man you don't like, you're willing to take democracy away in order to save democracy? Don't let voters vote for who they want because voters voting might lead to democracy being taken away?

The only way we can go back is for people to once again fear the consequences of their bad actions. That's what divides today from yesterday, all other things being equal.

We have a decent president right now. He is not the evil one trying to destroy America as the white Christian nationalists want you to believe.
America is not being destroyed by wokeness, abortion, stricter regulation of firearms illegal immigration, inflation or Putin,

There are problems; but who really expects the most powerful and successful free economic power in the history of the planet earth to not have problems.

I do know this. Working people would do much better choosing a President who served their economic interests every four years if they used their Holy Bibles as a guide for choosing religious leaders and being decent to other people instead of choosing a man like Trump to pick Catholic Supreme Court Justices to take reproductive freedom away from woman to please Jesus.

The biggest problem we face is the irresponsible, thoughtless, ignorant people themselves.

No one is above the law…except crack smoking Hunter, and “Pedo Pete” who he laundered money for.

Not to mention all those classified documents in his garage.

That’s good. We are a rule of law country. You want to follow the law and let due process find if Trump is guilty or innocent of mire than ninety charges filed against him in four indictments.

Who knew that Putin’s assistance to put a top Strongman ideological agent behind the desk in the Oval Office in 2017 would pay off the greatest dividends of all. By 2024 The entire Republican Party has given up on defending liberal western democracies in favor of making the world safe for strongman rule because individual liberty just isn’t working like it did in the fifties. Like it did before the coloreds, females and homosexual perverts got all uppity and shit.

Everyone knows Biden is president. Why can't the left accept that fact? The freaking Country is falling apart under the most unpopular president in modern history and lefties would rather talk about Trump and the 2020 election. Maybe TDS is a real mental illness.
