'US(OBAMA)-Backed 'Rebels' Shoot Down Russian Helicopter

Man Putin is really screwing the pooch
Yep. He's been bombing the Turkmans for weeks. The biggest foes of the Turkmans are ISIS and the Syrian Regime. It's no wonder Russia's pilots were shot.

Why is Russia supporting ISIS, anyway?

Bullshite. The U.S. and its allies are responsible for the creation of ISIS. Russia and Iran are now stuck cleaning up our awful mess. ISIS is celebrating this. It's very sad.
ISIS celebrates everything Obama does. He's fucking this up worse than the Obamacare rollout.

The story only said that the rebels use the TOW, there are shoulder fired missiles that could do the job also....A TOW is fired from a vehicle or a tripod if not mounted on helicopters, or tanks, APC's etc....I would guess it's a shoulder fired missile that was used..........
A TOW is not the same thing as a TOW. A TOW is a specific US-made anti-tank missile - the BGM-71 TOW. It was given to 'Syrian Rebels' to use against Assad regime tanks....but it obviously works nicely against Russian Rescue Helicopters as well.

So you know exactly what weapon was used?

It was reportedly a 'TOW' anti-tank missile....tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided...
Can't they be bought on the open market?

Reuters is reporting that this weapon was provided by the US.

"A Syrian insurgent group, recipient of U.S. Tow missiles, said its fighters hit the helicopter with an anti-tank missile while it was in the air and put out a video showing the helicopter being blown up after one of its fighters struck it with another missile."

So, the claim that the missile used was given to the rebels by Obama is speculation.

Not much of one. Obama armed rebels / ISIS from Benghazi. It has been highly reported that Obama spent millions supplying, arming, and training 6 'rebels' to fight Assad only to have them take all of their supplies and all of their weapons and gear with them when they converted over to ISIS. THEN AGAIN, ISIS also picked up vehicles, weapons, and a lot of gear after they flowed into Iraq, picked up when the Iraqis fled the ISIS forces.....

back up confirmation in this story. SA gave them 500 missiles but in this story by BI backs up the CIA deliveries.

The delivery of the TOW missiles — which have also been provided by the CIA — will increase the capabilities of the FSA against Syrian armor, and it would enable them to more effectively battle against Assad's recent military advances.

Let's add USA Today and AP

In a related incident, Syrian rebels claimed to have shot down a Russian helicopter searching for the plane's pilots, using U.S.-supplied TOW missiles, according to multiple media outlets citing the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Russian officials said one soldier was killed and the rest were evacuated, AP reported.
