There Is No Such Thing As A "Free Market"

OMG Marc is hilarious. He has no clue, he just reads off talking points.

Marc what is communism to the left......Utopian Socialism.
That is why when you ask them about communism, they say it has never been tried, because they mean Utopian Socialism...aka Anarchy. It's where the left and right meet. OMG I have to explain this to you, really?
Any liberals want to dispute my take on it (other than Marc)

Just like there's no such thing as a Free Football game.

Let's have a football game with no stadium, no referees and no rules...now let's play football.

There's no such thing as a free market, there HAS to be rules and there HAS to be regulations.

When will you RW bastards get that through your thick skullls?

I do not believe that most RWers want a free market with no laws and regs. Not even the libertarians want that, everybody except an outright anarchist knows you gotta have the rule of law in he marketplace.

You do realize that such vitriol is not conducive to any meaningful intelligent dialogue? Or were you merely interested in starting another political foodfight?
Are you seriously going to pretend as if the RW meme in the public discourse hasn't been to "get government out of the way," and that's it?

Seriously?

Man...get a grip.

Are you seriously going to claim that RWers meant no law or regs at all when they say that? Show me a quote from any GOP politician who has said they want no laws and regs at all. Post a quote from Limbaugh or anybody from FoxNews who has said we shouldn't have any rules oand regs. What you're doing is making a ridiculous, wildass assumption and painting everyone on the right as though they are extreme anarchists. It's bullshit dude, makes you look like an ideological tool.

no he really doesnt get that, and he IS an ideological tool. Ideology is a good guideline, but you have to have experience and think for youself, March hasnt gotten to that point yet.

I already explained what my point was, which was that the CON$ mantra has been no rules, no laws, no regulations = good business aka capitalism.

And it's already been pointed out that your straw man is a straw man.

My analogy depicts the ridiculousness of that bogus claim and meme.

No it didn't. It may have poorly depicted problems in your straw man, but didn't address capitalism whatsoever.

You guys are throwing in black markets and all sorts of other red herrings for what...I dunno.

If you can't understand what others are saying, how on earth do you think you can honestly claim that your analogy works? Maybe you should work at trying to understand what others are saying instead of plowing forward with your own thoughts with no regard with any flaws they might have.

My analogy was perfect.

Simply asserting this doesn't prove anything.

Well, professor possibly you don't understand the role government plays in manipulating and controlling the market. But then again what more would one expect from a narrow minded liberal that loves paying more for a product than one should?

There's no such thing as equality of income or even equality of opportunity, nor will there ever be. So that must mean these liberal ideals are bullshit, right?

OK wiseguy...

List the redundant regulations that OBAMA enacted.

Please and thanks.

Limitations on CO2 produced by coal fired power plants, for one. There are also 2,700 pages of redundant regulations on the healthcare industry, for another.

"FREE MARKET" is one of those terms POLS like to use because it essantially means whatever the fuck they want it to mean.

So you ARE right.

There is no thing called a free market.

Never has been never will be.

the entire idea makes no sense whatever.

And yet you have not quoted any so called CON who has actually said that.

So either support your claim or qualify your statement with the disclaimer:

"In my biased, partisan opinion..."

The only thing you have demonstrated thus far is how much of a RW hack you are.

In other words, you can't intellectually disagree with anything he has to say and so you are resorting to insults.
Just like he has done to me.

You are such a partisan it's actually funny.

I like that though, you're a good lap dog. There's a lot to be said about that.

lol

You must have me confused with somebody else.

The theoretical 100% "free market" is really just something economists invented to make it easier to develop theory. Its a simplification. Its justified if a market is close to a 100% free market because the effects of it not being free will be obscured by the other, more dominant effects covered by the theory. The theoretical "free market" was never intended to be any actual reality. The nutbag righties who have taken econ 101 (and some beyond) have taken to the idea that it should be reality. when they are told that an economic theory assumes a perfectly efficient market, for example, they think "that must mean a perfectly efficient market is possible and best, were it not for those stupeet libruls!"

Customers DO NOT equal to laws.

Neither do stockholders.

Try again hack.

Customer and Stockholder satisfaction TRUMPS a fine from some bureaucracy as a motivator for business ethics. So does an army of civil litigators..

I'd be working on a refund for that "formal education" right now if I was you...
You've been defrauded...

The "rules and regulations" can be agreed to by the involved parties.............

No need for some clueless statist to intervene with his hand out pretending to be the arbitrator of all things good............

Read my Footer jerk-off.. An entire cottage American labor industry of 10s of thousands of people are taking it in the shorts because of regulation.. Regulators have succeeded in DESTROYING the craft Toy Industry in this country while giving Mattel an EXEMPTION TO THE LAW.

Why do you think I keep this footer around for so long? It is irrefutable evidence of what the anti-market morons are doing to innovation and economic freedom in this country..

Go read a bit about it and tell me how IMPORTANT and wisely CRAFTED this regulation is.

So you oppose the Sherman anti-trust act and favor allowing businesses to fix prices to rape consumers up the ass?

Doesn't he mean that football needs rules that if one team scores, it doesn't score again until the other team scores? According to the rules, the game is over at the appointed time and if one team is ahead, the winning point must be redistributed to the loser and both get a trophy.

No it doesn't.

Of course it does. No customers,
Wait waaa? I thought the rich made the jobs. You need customers, too? No way!

no stockholders, and I don't care a wit about measly fines. I've got a much larger problem..

Sure thing. The light years in progress business has made (with still much to go) with respect to many factors influencing the environment is just coincidental with government environmental regulation, right. I believe that. For example, I'm sure the market would have just reduced sulfur and nitrous pollutants without emissions trading, just because they're nice people. And I'd bet that most businesses that make use of a river or other source of water would just make sure to save enough for those businesses and people downstream just because they're nice. And the relatively high level of food safety we enjoy here must have nothing to to with the FDA, its the magical unicorn free market working is wonders!
