What if there was a nationwide LEO strike

I can't watch those videos, they piss me off. Just like the ones where someone is standing somewhere filming and the officer walks up and asks to see their ID and the person starts being rude and telling the cop they don't need to show their ID and how they can record anywhere they want and pretty much trying to push the cops buttons and upset them on purpose.

None of that is true, at least now how you are presenting it and you're only using very tiny amounts of only partially true facts by cherry picking out a few words.

You're just taking completely unrelated and very vauge and loose examples and mixing them up to create your own context just so you can make inflammatory comments that are only intended to antagonize people. You're mad so you try and make other people mad, and that's a pitiful way to be. You're a contrarian, that's why your post count vs reaction is what it is.

It's time I just put you on the ignore list because everything you say is just a waste of time to read.

I hope you find whatever it is you need to be a happier person in life

So you are putting me on ignore? Oh dear.

The money that some of these people are getting in lawsuits is also ridiculous. Hundreds of thousands to millions being awarded to people who may have been a little victimized by a bad cop is ridiculous.

Like this guy. Completely wrongly arrested. But $3 million?

We will set the both sides want the other punished argument to the side for the moment.

I want to focus on something you almost got right. The recidivism problem. The problem is that we don’t do anything about rehabilitation. We count on poor conductions to dissuade the people from committing more crimes. When it doesn’t work, we are married to the idea that fear of punishment is the key, and we demand more punishment. When it continues to fail, we throw our hands up and decide that we must hold those criminals in prison for life. There is no other choice.

Contrast that with our own personal beliefs. We do something wrong. We confess our sins to a priest. We are told we are forgiven and go forth and sin no more. We profess to believe that we are forgiven. Forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

We don’t forgive them though do we? We really don’t. We prohibit those who are convicted from ever truly rejoining society. We create the self fulfilling prophecy that they are criminals, and that is all they will ever be.

We don’t believe in rehabilitation. We won’t spend a dime on it. We believe in eternal punishment for wrongs. Forgive us our trespasses? Why? We haven’t forgiven anyone. Ever.

Little hope to “FIX” any Adult that does not comply. If not set straight as an early age child in the home then Kindegarten, 1st grade has to “fix” them. Woke idiots wont allow it, so they roam in packs spreading violent mayhem, ending up in Jails. At that time it’s up to them. //

...they do not end up in jail. That is the problem. We used to have "3-strikes" laws that worked.

And yet Norway has a very low Recidivism rate. They focus on rehabilitation and it shows results. I suppose we could say that the Norwegian citizen is superior to the American. You know. Just better than our people.

Some folks don't want to be rehabilitated. Some don't need rehab. They learned their lessons as soon as the cuffs were put on. Some can be rehab'd. Out of hundreds of thousands of criminals in our jails and prisons, there's no way to organize, separate and pick out good candidates for rehabilitation.
This is where self responsibility comes into play.
Don't want to go to jail or prison, don't commit the crimes. It's not like most criminals never have a chance. They get caught doing something, get bailed out and before they even get to their court date, they're committing more crimes.

Why anyone would spend a year in prison, then get out and commit more crimes is retarded. You don't need rehab for that. What people need is punishment that convinces them that committing crimes is not worth the punishment. The severity of the punishment could be anywhere from 1hr in jail, to be tied to wall and whipped within an inch of their lives.

With me, it's always just been the thought of going to jail. And the fact that I realize that adversely affecting the lives of others is just wrong. And that I wouldn't want someone to make me a victim.

Expecting the government to fix people's mentality is a losing game. It's not the governments job to make people right in the head. It's their job to keep them away from people who are right in the head.

If someone isn't fit for society, they shouldn't be in society. Ever.

Enjoy those taxes to keep the people locked up. Enjoy those taxes to afford those lawsuits against the cops who you want to punish the bad people.

Yesterday on the NYC subway, a guy pulls a gun, another guy takes the gun off him and shoots him with it.
Yet the National Guard soldiers are unarmed???

The video's I seen were armed NG. Some only with a side arm.

I have a solution for that.

Privately ran prisons, with only a small amount of government oversight. Corporations building prisons and putting inmates to work building their products. They get almost free labor. And in exchange, they take much of the tax burden off the state by paying for the housing, food and medical needs of the convicts from their profits.

The only consolation is that they have make things that aren't made here in the USA. They could make things that are only made outside the country.

Here's my short version. I think this is the only acceptable solution to rehabilitate people and help keep those who will never be fit for society out of society.

Prison reform for those with common sense

Again, they don't have wide open borders with criminal countries dumping their prisons into. They don't have tens of millions Black males from single mothers roaming about willy nilly looking for victims. Less junkies, homeless and white punks on dope.

Yes, it's 1000X more difficult here.

I wish you guys would make up your minds. A cop shoots a woman storming the Capital and that’s murder. A cop doesn’t shoot a man resisting and that’s bullshit.

In Colorado a woman was awarded $4 million because cops used a SWAT team to raid her house. The evidence she had committed a crime? Her home was in the circle of a find my iPhone circle. No iPhone was found, nor any other spoils from the crime.

You guys want to say the cops shouldn’t have to put up with this shit. Then you scream the cops are corrupt when they go after your heroes.

You want the cops to be brutal and relentless. If you don’t like the person being arrested. You want them to have unquestioned authority as long as they don’t go after people you agree with.
Do you believe the drunk hood rat in the video was reasonable?

Lately, I've been watching a lot of police video's. Especially traffic stops and retail theft. The video's span from coast to coast and border to border. It seems like there's hardly any communities in this country, where the cops don't have to put up with extra levels of entitled folks who think they "know their riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiights." From "I don't have to show you an ID (after crashing their vehicle), or "I didn't steal anything (while holding the stolen items in their hands).
For those who don't normally watch these kind of video's, may not understand what I'm saying, so here's one. And believe me, there's thousands of these videos out there. And tens of thousands of instances that weren't posted online.

Long story short about the video. The drunk driver is insufferable. Constantly yelling and screaming at the cops and medical professionals. Refusing basic commands (constantly) Arguing with everyone and everything. Including her girlfriend.

I realize that cops aren't allowed to go on strike. But let's say they do. Or they simply all quit at the same time. Or some other scenario that takes them off their job for a month.
What do you think would happen within that month. And also, what would happen once they're reinstated.

Hopefully, this thread won't get moved, because this is political. As police are government employee's who are subjected by government rules & regulations. And this affects a vast majority of citizens.

I'm torn here.

While you're correct that there's a lawless sense of entitlement and general disregard for orderly society in urban shitholes, there are far too many cops out there who couldn't care less about anyone's rights and don't know the law....Likewise, they've all been set forth to enforce laws of dubious value, and have become, to a great extent, defacto revenue agents.

One is too many. But there's 1000 times more thugs and criminals who don't deserve any civil rights.

Some of the actual real bad cops would get shit canned if there wasn't such a need for all cops now days.

I've been contacted by some bad cops before, when I was trucking. My saving grace was being calm until I could get in contact with someone that could actually help the situation.
One in particular was the officers chief. A brief conversation with him got all charges dropped.
One time, it only took a calm conversation with the judge (and firing my attorney). Firing the attorney got the judges attention. Then explaining to the judge all the details he and the other officer left out, got me a greatly reduced sentence. Something like a $50 fine.

You can't argue the case on the side of the road or with a bad cop. These entitled pricks now a days, think they can holler and scream at cops, demand rights that they don't have, and it's going to get them off.

The first 15 seconds says it all

As it is with bad cops, I strongly suspect that the entitled asshole being pulled over is also a relative rarity....The number of both being grossly inflated by the fact that there are now cameras everywhere.

Unlike your daily rant of all cops suck we understand there are good and bad people in every job.
