The Blinders On The Left

I disagree Trump was is and will always be a racist

Jesse Jackson Praised Trump in 1999 for LIFETIME of helping African American Community

trump probably paid him off

Why not simply admit you were wrong.

The far left would much rather watch the world burn than admit to being wrong!

Look all the seats they have lost across the country and yet they still believe that they are winning..

kosh 2 sentences 2 lies

And another far left drone proves my comments!

That is now 2 for 2..

My comments are always spot on when it comes to the far left religion!

How do I want the world to burn? I want a stronger nation that invest in our own people.

And a far left drone comes in and proves my comments!

The far left is usually wrong on all fronts yet they can not see it, they are blinded by their religious dogma!

So you think science is wrong?
Building infrastructure to drive your car or truck over is wrong?
Clean air, water and food is wrong?

I am just wrong on everything? Do you ever listen to yourself?

AGW is not science it is a religion and Trump wants to build infrastructure.

Although anyone driving a battery powered car is not paying for the roads they drive on.

See how the far left religion just spews their debunked religious dogma?

And yet they still will not admit to being wrong!

Actually, Kosh.....I don't believe that to be the case.

They were sent reeling by the election, and will make a number of changes to regain power.....
I began a thread after the election which tends to support that...

You White Folks Are Gonna Benefit...

If you have the interest, see if it changes your mind.

If you saw a politician with no experience, a father who stated that 100% taxation was acceptable, and refused to negotiate with the other side.....

.....what would be the problem with resisting him at every opportunity???

In case you truly don't understand the divide.....

a. individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government.

b. the collective, command and control regulation of private industry, and overarching government that can order every aspect of the private citizen's life....right down to control of his thoughts and speech.

Which do you choose?
certainly not b......

Excellent.....you can join us, conservatives.

b. is the what Liberals, Progressives, Nazis, Fascists, Communists and Socialists offer for society.

Good to have you aboard......we have cookies.

True....but that dope is an example of the bottom of the barrel, hardly one of the Left's elites or thinkers.

They made terrible mistakes....

"The Future of the Obama Coalition
By THOMAS B. EDSALL NOVEMBER 27, 2011 11:34 PM November 27, 2011 11:34 pm
For decades, Democrats have suffered continuous and increasingly severe losses among white voters. But preparations by Democratic operatives for the 2012 election make it clear for the first time that the party will explicitly abandon the white working class."
The Future of the Obama Coalition

But preparations by Democratic operatives for the 2012 election make it clear for the first time that the party will explicitly abandon the white working class.

All pretense of trying to win a majority of the white working class has been effectively jettisoned in favor of cementing a center-left coalition made up, on the one hand, of voters who have gotten ahead on the basis of educational attainment — professors, artists, designers, editors, human resources managers, lawyers, librarians, social workers, teachers and therapists — and a second, substantial constituency of lower-income voters who are disproportionately African-American and Hispanic."
The Future of the Obama Coalition

If they want to be in power.....they know they have to change and become an American party again.

"I am just wrong on everything?"

Bingo!

For the most part, when it comes to communism, Socialism, and every iteration thereof, Leftists cannot see or recognize any iniquity.
And that extends to refusing to admit the success of the economic and political thesis known as conservatism.

One Liberal wrote this in a recent article in the WSJ:

"It is time to admit that American liberalism is in deep crisis: a crisis of imagination and ambition on our side, a crisis of attachment and trust on the side of the wider public.
Ronald Reagan almost single-handedly destroyed the New Deal vision of America that used to guide us."
The Liberal Crackup

Let's go over the reasons for this.

They...Liberals, Democrats, Socialists, Marxists.... so very much want communism to be correct and successful, that the Left's pundits both ignore the truth, and lie about it.

1. "...Western leftists [suffered from] an intellectual disability when they gazed upon the Soviet Union....they failed to notice the transformation of their own...economies by Reaganism....

Almost all the intellectual energy of ....leftists was spent in attempting to demonstrate the failure of [Reagan's] policies by criteria that were short-term, parochial, and irrelevant to the dramatic character of the economic changes that [Reagan's policies produced]."
John O'sullivan, "The President, the Pope, and the Prime Minister: Three Who Changed the World," p.257-258

2. One cannot help but laugh when reading the prognostications, predictions, pronouncements from one Leftist after another.... John Kenneth Galbraith, Lester Thurow, Paul Samuelson, Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., Seweryn Bialer, Strobe Talbott.....one after another praising the success of the USSR, and claiming how tales of impending demise were simply untrue.

And this....right up to a year before the Soviet collapse!!!

Yet....these are the 'experts' taught to this day in our universities.....and the real expert, Ronald Reagan....despised in those precincts.

3. The 'dupes' were still viewing Potemkin Villages.
A dupe is one who is easily deceived or fooled. As far back as Washington’s Farewell Address, we find the warning against dupes: “Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests.

In the early years after the Bolshevik Revolution, the communists used manipulations, such as the Potemkin Villages, to persuade the world how admirable and successful the revolution had been. One technique was to invite prominent American and British leftists to take carefully planned tours. And these ‘Potemkin Progressives,’ for the most part, behaved and thought just as they were meant to. Lenin, and then Stalin, carefully arranged the tours so that these progressives would then go back to their countries and praise Soviet Russia, and tell of the amazing success of communism. See Dr. Paul Kengor, Hoover Institution, Stanford “DUPES: How America's Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century

For dupes such as these 'Potemkin Progressives'.... John Kenneth Galbraith, Lester Thurow, Paul Samuelson, Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., Seweryn Bialer, Strobe Talbott...trips to Potemkin Villages wasn't necessary. Long after Franklin Roosevelt has sworn that Communist Russia was what we should honor, and hope to be, they continued to carry that banner.

Imagine how quickly any college course telling the truth about the Soviet Union, or revealing the success of Reagan's economic policies...

...would be shut down.
Why is it that right wing 'theses' always seem to rely upon some mix of binary thinking and strawmen?

Soooo.....who, and how, did politicians go about having a 4% or better GDP?

Not Obama, that's for sure....he never even had 3% GDP growth.

8. . "We have experienced relatively long periods of 4% or more economic growth. Following the Kennedy tax cuts, the economy averaged 5.2% yearly growth between 1963 and 1969. After the Reagan tax rates fully went into effect, alongside Paul Volcker’s conquering of inflation, the economy grew at 4.5% annually between 1982 and 1989. These were the “seven fat years,” so named by former Wall Street Journal editor Robert Bartley. Between 1994 and 1999, after welfare reform, NAFTA trade, and cap-gains tax relief, the Bill Clinton/Newt Gingrich economy increased 4.3% annually.

So we’ve got six-year, seven-year, and five-year periods — all in recent memory — when the American economy beat 4"%." Yes, We Can. 4% Growth Can Certainly Be Done, As Reagan, JFK Proved - The New York Sun

"By the end of the summer of Reagan's third year in office, the economy was soaring. The GDP growth rate was 5% and racing toward 7%, even 8% growth. In 1983 and '84 output was growing so fast the biggest worry was that the economy would "overheat." In the summer of 2011 we have an economy limping along at barely 1% growth and by some indications headed toward a "double-dip" recession. By the end of Reagan's first term, it was Morning in America. Today there is gloomy talk of America in its twilight." Obamanonics vs. Reaganomics

Yet which President is beatified?

Which is called the Messiah, and God, and Jesus by the Left?????

QED, the premise of this thread:
...when it comes to communism, Socialism, and every iteration of Marxism, Leftists cannot see or recognize any iniquity.
And that extends to refusing to admit the success of the economic and political thesis known as conservatism.

Why is it you brain-numbed Leftist drones can never produce a capable post???

Where are your examples of anything.....ANYTHING....in my posts that isn't true, correct and accurate?

See what I mean?
Not too late to change your avi to 'HotAir.'

Just one more example of why conservatives eat Liberals' lunch.

One of the books I'm currently reading is a serial killer-mystery novel by Norwegian author, Jo Nesbo, and coincidental to this thread.....he has one of his characters say
"As soon as something begins to resemble an established truth, it's my job to argue against it.
That's what liberalism is."
"The Snowman," p. 188

Right on target!

Am I biased towards capitalism and conservatism?
You betcha'....

But even out-and-out communists saw the truth....and admitted it.

9. The success of capitalism, of Reagan's model of a free and deregulated economy spread throughout the world:
" Reagan’s ideas transformed American finance, global economics and world politics. They reverberated through Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union and China with the power of Joshua’s trumpets. They made South Korea a more economically important and promising country than France or Germany."
Ronald Reagan and the Spirit of Free Enterprise

Even the communist officials were forced to admit it.

Here, a 1986 conversation between Gorbachev and Alexander Natta, the General Secretary of the Italian Communist party:

Natta: At the same time we, the communists, having either overestimated or underestimated the functions of the “welfare state,” kept defending situations which, as it became clear only now, we should not have defended. As a result, a bureaucratic apparatus, which serves itself, has swelled. It is interesting that a certain similarity with your situation, which you call stagnation, can be seen here.

Gorbachev: “Parkinson’s law” works everywhere. . . .[he's admitting that government, and regulations....and taxes to pay for same...grow and grow]

Natta: Any bureaucratization encourages the apparatus to protect its own interests and to forget about the citizens’ interests. I suppose that is exactly why the Right’s demands of re-privatisation [meaning: reduce the size of government!] are falling on a fertile ground in Western public opinion.

Once the command economies of the Soviet Bloc collapsed in 1989, revealing the extraordinary bankruptcy of state planning [e.g., ObamaCare], it was the [conservative] model that the new democracies mainly sought to emulate." Margaret Thatcher: A Legacy of Freedom

Those are communist elites, in a private conversation.

But.... the truth is not taught in the Left's re-education camps, the universities....and the result can be seen in the posts by Leftists in this thread.

Bills Republicans Have Blocked Since President Obama Took Office
Nov 2, 2012

I keep hearing this argument that Obama did not do enough....there is a long list of achievement I posted...Obama administration's accomplishments: Off Topic Forum: Digital Photography Review

Obama did do lot of things even without Repubs support....and seems Repubs never agree with that accusation....here is the list I found on web.....lets see if someone willing to still refute....

  1. Tax on Companies that ship jobs overseas- A bill that would have eliminated a tax break that companies get when they ship jobs overseas. Republicans blocked this, allowing companies to keep the tax break they receive when they ship jobs to other countries.
  2. Political Ad disclosure bill- Would have required all donors to political campaigns to reveal themselves. Republicans blocked this, not once but twice.
  3. Subpoena Power for the Committee investigating the BP Oil Spill – Give subpoena power to the independent committee responsible for investigating BP’s roll in the oil spill. Republicans attempted to block this.
  4. The Small Business Jobs Act -would give LOCAL, community banks access to billions of dollars to loan to small businesses. Republicans blocked this, then attempted to block it a second time and failed.
  5. The DREAM Act- Gives immigrant youth who were brought here as children a path to citizenship by earning a college degree or serving the military for 2 years. Republicans blocked this.
  6. Repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”- Would have repealed the law that forces gay and lesbian services members to lie about their sexuality and gives the military the right to discharge soldiers based on their sexuality. Republicans blocked this many times and Democrats were finally able to pass it with the support of just 2 Republicans.
  7. Senator Franken’s Anti-Rape Amendment to the Defense Appropriations Bill – Makes it so that women raped overseas while working for foreign contractors have the right to have their case heard in an American court instead of having their case mediated by the company they work for. Only Republican men voted against this, but it passed.
  8. Benefits for Homeless Veterans- Would have expanded benefits to homeless veterans and homeless veterans with children. Republicans blocked this.
  9. Affordable Health Care For America Act- Prevents insurance companies from discriminating against you on the basis of “pre-existing conditions”. Requires that insurance companies spend 85 cents of every dollar that you pay on your actual health care. Limits health insurance companies profit margins. Republicans blocked this for months before it finally passed and have vowed to repeal it if they are elected.
  10. Health Care for the 9/11 First Responders who got sick from being at Ground Zero- Would provide billions of dollars in health care to help the 9/11 First Responders who were at Ground Zero on 9/11 and are now sick because of it. Republicans blocked this.
  11. The Jobs Bill- Offsets the payroll tax for 1 year for companies that hire new employees, or people receiving unemployment insurance. Also gives other tax incentives to companies hiring new employees. Republicans attempted to block this.
  12. Wall Street Reform- Puts stricter regulations on the banks, preventing them from becoming “too big to fail”. Curbs reckless spending practices that caused the banking crisis. Republicans attempted to block this.
  13. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act- Pumped billions of dollars into state and local Governments to prevent us from sinking into a second Great Depression. Republicans opposed this but now want to take credit for the parts of it that we know are successful.
  14. Oil Spill Liability- Raises the liability on what companies can be made to pay to clean up after an oil spill. Republicans blocked this.
  15. Immigration Reform- Republican suggested comprehensive immigration reform until Obama supported it. Now they’re rabidly opposed to it and even voted against their own legislation. Republicans blocked this.
  16. Unemployment extension bill HR-4213- Would provide additional aid to the millions of Americans still on unemployment who are just trying to support themselves and their families. Republicans blocked this bill for 8 weeks before it finally passed. Republicans blocked this for 8 weeks before it finally passed.
  17. Fair Pay Act of 2009- Also called the Lily Ledbetter bill. Requires that women receive equal compensation to men for doing the same work. Republicans attempted to block this.
  18. No permanent military bases in Afghanistan.
  19. Report identifying hybrid or electric propulsion systems and other fuel-saving technologies for incorporation into tactical motor vehicles.
  20. Protection of child custody arrangements for parents who are members of the Armed Forces deployed in support of a contingency operation.
  21. Improvements to Department of Defense domestic violence programs.
  22. Department of Defense recognition of spouses of members of the Armed Forces.
  23. Department of Defense recognition of children of members of the Armed Forces.
  24. Enhancements to the Troops-to-Teachers Program.
  25. Fiscal year 2011 increase in military basic pay.
  26. Improving aural protection for members of the Armed Forces.
  27. Comprehensive policy on neurocognitive assessment by the military health care system.
  28. Authority to make excess nonlethal supplies available for domestic emergency assistance.
And those were just some of the progressive provisions. On the conservative side, there are these, and more:

  • Prohibition on the use of funds for the transfer or release of individuals detained at United States Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
  • Prohibition on the use of funds to modify or construct facilities in the United States to house detainees transferred from United States Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
  • Prohibition on use of funds to give Miranda warnings to Al Qaeda terrorists.

The Economy Under Democratic vs. Republican Presidents
index.cfm
It has often been suggested that Republicans are better at overseeing the economy than Democrats. However, an analysis of economic performance since World War II under Democratic versus Republican presidents shows that claims that Republicans are better at managing the economy are simply not true. While the reasons are neither fully understood nor completely attributable to policy choices, data show that the economy has performed much better during Democratic administrations. Economic growth, job creation and industrial production have all been stronger.

In fact, a recent paper by economists Alan Blinder and Mark Watson states: “The superiority of economic performance under Democrats rather than Republicans is nearly ubiquitous; it holds almost regardless of how you define success.” Fact-checking groups have investigated similar statements and have found time and time again that they are true. Moreover, past research shows that stock market returns are also higher under Democrats.

The charts in this document update and expand upon the analysis in the Blinder and Watson paper. They include more recent data for both gross domestic product (GDP) and employment, as well as revisions to past data that have occurred since their paper was written. The charts also go back further to include all available data for the Truman presidency, though GDP data are only available beginning in 1947.

The data show that, since World War II, the economy has performed substantially better under Democratic presidents. On average, real (inflation-adjusted) GDP has grown about 1.6 times faster under Democrats than under Republicans. While the strong performance under Presidents Truman, Kennedy and Johnson certainly contributes to this gap, the starting point does not matter: GDP has grown faster under Democrats regardless of whether the analysis begins with President Truman, President Kennedy or President Reagan.

The findings for private-sector job growth are even more striking: businesses have added jobs at a nearly 2.5 times faster rate under Democrats than under Republicans, on average. In fact, the private-sector job growth gap between Democrats and Republicans is even greater than the gap when including government jobs.

These results should be interpreted with caution, since numerous external factors can impact the economy, including demographic trends, the strength of foreign economies and actions by the Federal Reserve. The Blinder and Watson paper concludes that the “large and significant” performance gap between the economy under Democrats and Republicans is predominantly due to factors that “might be considered blends of good policy and good luck,” in particular lower oil prices and higher productivity growth. But as Dr. Blinder pointed out to FactCheck.org, presidents may inadvertently affect these factors while pursuing other objectives. For example, he wrote: “the fact that we entered several wars in the gulf area (the latest in 2003) under Republican presidents, thereby driving up oil prices, was not just luck – it was policy, though not economic policy.”

1. Blinder was a Clinton appointee....a Democrat...but at least he's from Brooklyn

2. You didn't address the facts I provided.....GDP growth.

3. You made the insane announcement that you'd rather live in a gulag, and told what to do and what to think, by government, rather than in a nation ruled by the precepts of our Founders: individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government....admitting that you are a totalitarian.

4. In simplest terms:
The Dog and the Wolf
A gaunt Wolf was almost dead with hunger when he happened to meet a House-dog who was passing by. "Ah, Cousin," said the Dog. "I knew how it would be; your irregular life will soon be the ruin of you. Why do you not work steadily as I do, and get your food regularly given to you?"

"I would have no objection," said the Wolf, "if I could only get a place."

"I will easily arrange that for you," said the Dog; "come with me to my master and you shall share my work."

So the Wolf and the Dog went towards the town together. On the way there the Wolf noticed that the hair on a certain part of the Dog's neck was very much worn away, so he asked him how that had come about.

"Oh, it is nothing," said the Dog. "That is only the place where the collar is put on at night to keep me chained up; it chafes a bit, but one soon gets used to it."

"Is that all?" said the Wolf. "Then good-bye to you, Master Dog."

Better starve free than be a fat slave.

Does that cover it?

Who was more successful, Obama or Reagan?

If you think BLM is too aggressive and has thus done more harm than good by making regular folks who really want everyone to be treated equally abandon that principle, you come from a place of privilege and refuse to acknowledge it.

I state with certainty that the media coverage of riots, social media of racial hatred, and many other things coming from BLM, supporters, and due to BLM and supporters, has flavored people's opinion about what they stand for.
People don't question "Can we all be better to each other?"
They start to question the people whom set their own neighborhoods on fire.
get upset.
Or the police can treat the gunning down of black men the same as they treat white deaths.
BLM did not start this.

You can only watch do many videos of policemen killing unarmed black men with no repercussions & not get upset.

It started with Zimmerman killing Trayvon Martin, telling his story & the police basically saying "no problem".

Then you get a bunch of ignorant white people running around screaming " White lives matter" being too God damn stupid to know white lives always mattered.

This is the problem. Quit blaming black people for your racism.
