Republican Governor Bobby Jidnal approves taxpayer dollars to go to religious schools

vouchers for muslim schools.

this is just more evidence how the cons NEVER think their ideas through.

low information voters with tiny brains too stressed by fox lies to figure anything real out

lol SO YOU DO WANT TO DISCRIMINATE

Typical low life.................

dear idiot I dont want ANY religious school to get tax payer dollars.

they are all myth and the government should not suppliment people who want their kids taught myths

Right you wish to discriminate because then you cant cheat for students

You scream about education and how the RIGHT has engaged in war on education. Yet it's been PROVEN time and time again, that Charter and RELIGIOUS schools teach kids 100 fold better than public schools and the kids in charter and religious schools are 1000 fold better behaved. Public schools fail our children, yet Charter and Religious schools teach, prepare and discipline our children!!!

You cried about Walker, but he is hiring teachers, keeping schools open, reducing class size, saving school programs. If it was up to the liberals, teachers would get laid off, class size would explode, schools would close and be combined with already too-capacity schools and there wouldn't be any school programs to speak of!

dear fucking idiot

they can kick out whomever they want to kick out.

public schools have to teach all kids and not just they ones they chose to allow in.

you are lying about their success rate too.

heres the deal we need to teach all our children not just the chosen few we find easy to teach.
Yes, strive for mediocrity - the left's wet dream.

Islam and the West do not mix. 3 out of 4 US mosques preach hatred of the US and are Islamofacist hotbeds! There is a difference between Chrisitian schools that focus on education first and have some religious element to them, but above all they preach love and patriotism.

Islamic school teach hate America, hate the West, hate the Jews, love sharia, live by sharia and support the fourth "silent" caliphate!

Study: 3 in 4 U.S. mosques preach anti-West extremism,” from WorldNetDaily (thanks to TCS):

An undercover survey of more than 100 mosques and Islamic schools in America has exposed widespread radicalism, including the alarming finding that 3 in 4 Islamic centers are hotbeds of anti-Western extremism, WND has learned. The Mapping Sharia in America Project, sponsored by the Washington-based Center for Security Policy, has trained former counterintelligence and counterterrorism agents from the FBI, CIA and U.S. military, who are skilled in Arabic and Urdu, to conduct undercover reconnaissance at some 2,300 mosques and Islamic centers and schools across the country.

“So far of 100 mapped, 75 should be on a watchlist,” an official familiar with the project said.

Many of the Islamic centers are operating under the auspices of the Saudi Arabian government and U.S. front groups for the radical Muslim Brotherhood based in Egypt.

Frank Gaffney, a former Pentagon official who runs the Center for Security Policy, says the results of the survey have not yet been published. But he confirmed that “the vast majority” are inciting insurrection and jihad through sermons by Saudi-trained imams and anti-Western literature, videos and textbooks.

The project, headed by David Yerushalmi, a lawyer and expert on sharia law, has finished collecting data from the first cohort of 102 mosques and schools. Preliminary findings indicate that almost 80 percent of the group exhibit a high level of sharia-compliance and jihadi threat, including:

I still would like to know how it is unconstitutional since it isnt federal government doing it..........A;so since they are not saying it has to be a specific religious school or org the money goes to....Liberals blocking this is just them being fascist again. ....

The 14th amendment RIGHTFUL pushed the requirements of the bill of rights onto the States, so yes State laws and movements must be constitutional also!

So how is it unconstitutional since the government is not telling you which religious school the money goes to????

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
seems cut and dried to me.

I have seen what private RELIGIOUS school can do first hand. My son's preschool allowed for a private kindergarden vs public kindergarden. We decided to give it a try. They taught my son how to read, do basic adding and subtracting, touched on some science, had a list of 75 "popcorn" words that he had to spells (and can spell) and even had daily homework and a report card! Contrast that with our neighbor down the streets public school kindergarden experience. They never touched on adding or subtracting, rather just on knowing your numbers and counting (which most kids go in week one). They didn't touch on reading or even come close to spelling, but the goal was to learn their ABCs!

I saw the difference firsthand!

And your they just kick the dumb kids out is a LIE!!! Charters schools can't and don't do that. If your a behavioral problem they kid you out, but sugar so do public schools! How quickly you for the draconian response to the little bastards viciously harassing the bus monitor. They were expelled for a YEAR!!! Unlike teachers there is no rubber room. You break the code and the school boots you! Heck say,"I want to bring a gun to school and kill that bully" will get you expelled!!!

You have an inflated view on public schools like all liberals, and you want to knock charter schools, because they threaten the Union run, pension killing and collectivist style tenure style that is destroying American education.

Results don't lie, Liberals do!

Rep. Valarie Hodges, R-Watson, says she had no idea that Gov. Bobby Jindal’s overhaul of the state’s educational system might mean taxpayer support of Muslim schools.

“I actually support funding for teaching the fundamentals of America’s Founding Fathers’ religion, which is Christianity, in public schools or private schools,” the District 64 Representative said Monday.

…

“Unfortunately it will not be limited to the Founders’ religion,” Hodges said. “We need to insure that it does not open the door to fund radical Islam schools. There are a thousand Muslim schools that have sprung up recently. I do not support using public funds for teaching Islam anywhere here in Louisiana.”

Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrppppppppppppppppppppppppp

That's some funny shit right there.

I would certainly object to this:

There are also concerns about how the program might meld government and religion. Of the 120 private schools approved by the state government, the majority are Christian-based and monitored far more loosely by the state than their public counterparts, according to Reuters. The New Living Word school, which is willing to accept 314 vouchers — the highest number in the state — has no library, and students watch instructional DVDs that filter lessons through Biblical verses. The Eternity Christian Academy, likewise, does not teach evolution, and is one of a handful of schools that employ the Accelerated Christian Education program, which reportedly claims, among other things, that Japanese whalers caught a dinosaur, and that the Loch Ness Monster is real.

Happy for you...a few questions:

1. how many in your child's class?

2. what was their home language?

3. what was done about the kids who could not keep up with the pace of the curriculum?

4. what was done about parents who refused to volunteer or show up for parent conferences?

5. what was done about parents who were illiterate and couldn't help the kids at home at all?

6. what was done with the discipline problems? how quickly?

TIA

I think it's time to move down there and start a VooDoo based school, or a Druid based school........:eusa_whistle:

In Louisiana, Republican Governor Bobby Jindal pushed for a voucher program that would allow state funds to be used to pay for religious schools. It’s unconstitutional, it’s a way to use taxpayer money to fund someone’s faith, and it was a bad idea to begin with.

But it passed..

The government should not be in the "education" business. But they are.

In that case , monies earmarked for education should be used for ANY school.

Why is it that the government can pay for schools which promote fascism and socialism but can not pay for schools which promote religion?

.

Well, my point is more about the question of this being the PUBLIC'S money. (Religion is definitely involved.)

If my understanding of vouchers is correct (and I am not sure it is or isn't), then I find it difficult to see how this is the public's money. It's an individual's money, and if that individual chooses to use it to send his/her child to a Muslim school, that is the individual's right.

Giving a voucher to an individual regardless of his/her use is a gifting of public money. No childless homeowner is eligible to receive a voucher, and public schools are funded in the budget of a state and political subdivision of said state. If the people in a school district desire to fund a religious school they could pass a bond issue.
No, it's not PUBLIC money, no more so than a tax credit.

Taxes are collected by the state. Person applies for state voucher system, state hands out said voucher for person to go to X school..

Take away the taxes and who pays for the voucher?

Ummmm, what?

It's the citizen's money in the FIRST place.

Privatization leads to increased costs to the taxpayer, poorer service, endangered client populations, and agendas that are anti-American.

Public education will not be privatized.

And massive government bureaucracy leads to decreased costs to the taxpayer, better service, protected client populations, and progressive (read pro American) agendas.

Progressives like starkly are fuckin morons.

Moron. Foster Care? Outsourcing of mental health clients? Prison populations? Elder Care? Invasions of foreign countries?

You are fucking morons, and why the GOP will not listen to you after 2012.

OK. Cool. Let's design our public schools to handle those students.

Now the questions become:

1. Same question.

2. And what to do with the brutally bored kids who already speak English?

3. Same as #2.

4. Same question.

5. Same as #2

6. Same as #2, only there are more discipline problems due to utter boredom.

And, we'll add a question:

7. What will happen to higher educational standards when admission standards will be lowered even more to accommodate these even less-educated children?

But, cool...everyone will get the same education, even potentially stellar students.

Woo boy we have a winner here.

The vouchers are paid for by taxes collected by the government.

Again is the senator wrong in stating that the state shouldn't be funding radical islam schools, by giving vouchers to people to go there?

Seeing how it seems you disagree with her, then what would you claim she is? Ignorant? Stupid? Should be removed from office?

It being the peoples money is irrelavant in this case. If a private person wants to pay for their kid to go to a school that is their choice. This isn't what is happening here at all.

So either you are playing stupid or you just are stupid. Im going to go with the second one personally. Any child can figure out what's going on here rather easily.

The concept of Occam's razor confuses you.
