Republican Governor Bobby Jidnal approves taxpayer dollars to go to religious schools

Jindal must be on the democrat hit list these days. Here's another dishonest op-ed disguised as news from someone who describes himself as a "friendly atheist" of all things. Think maybe the friendly atheist has an agenda? Jindal offered a voucher program which would most likely improve the education system by giving parents the option of other schools besides the failed union based system. As for Hodges all she said that she hoped the state doesn't subsidize the teaching of radical Islam. Don't we all? It's interesting that the "friendly atheist" is hysterical about the possibility of Christian based schools but defends the teaching of radical Islam.

Public school vouchers are the far right wing extremists' attempts to destroy public education.

It will fail as always, because the far right wing grows smaller every day as it grow whiter, older, and less effective.

If Constitutional, then no religious school can be excluded under this bill.

Oh, the Founders were religious, from deist to Christian.

Education was not considered a function of Federal or State government when the Constitution was written.

Whatever this does or does not do it will not save money. Private schools now tend to be cheaper because there is not enough money in the mix.

Turn loose vouchers and that will change. Private schools should expand they will require more teachers, more facilities, more of everything and they will have to bid on the supply.

Private industry does practically everything cheaper (and better) than the government. Private industry has more accountability than does the government.

With more students comes more money to expand, without needing more money per student. On the contrary, scale of economies imply that as private schools expand, they'll actually need less money per student.

No longer will they be depending on just the teachers who cannot get a "real" job.

There are plenty of people who can't get a "real" job available for teaching.

Privatization leads to increased costs to the taxpayer, poorer service, endangered client populations, and agendas that are anti-American.

Public education will not be privatized.

Try proving it blowhard.............

Perhaps I am unclear on the concept of school vouchers. My understanding is that the voucher is a dollar amount equal to the portion of the tax dollars an individual pays that goes to public schools. So, if an individual pays $5K in property taxes and $2K of that amount goes to public schools, a person's voucher is $2K for any school of their choice.

My understanding is that it is like a refund for services not used, but that refund must be used on schooling.

So, how is this using the PUBLIC'S money on a private school involving religion?

So then the state senator is wrong in stating she didn't want funding to go towrds muslims?

Where? Telling the truth is not ranting.

But you guys can support the original charge that private industry can do better, if you wish.

No, it was part of the modern industrial age requirement in the USA so people could be smarter or literate to work in factories.

1) The courts have already found vouchers that don't impose religious tests on private schools are constitutional. (Also, the courts have found that voucher discrimination against religious schools is also constitutional.)

2) It will fail, not because the "right wing" is shrinking, but because the "right wing" is too busy sucking Jewish ass (which is the big reason they're shrinking) to make Christian/religious freedom a priority.

3) Right, the Founding Fathers were deist to Christian, without an Atheist or God Damned Jew in between.

I wouldn't argue that, much. It is rare you get something mostly right.
