I disagree about covid.
Covid has the same infection rate and lethality of seasonal flu.
And the way flu ends is by herd immunity.
The only reason covid did not end, is we prevented herd immunity by "flattening the curve".
Think of "flattening the curve" as saving easy hosts that can keep the epidemic from ever ending.

So then it was Fauci and not Trump who prevented it ending.
And the reason that was such a dramatic failure is that Fauci was likely waiting for the vaccines, which then proved totally ineffective for preventing spread or conveying any sort of immunity.

Carter negotiated it and to honor Carter, Reagan had Carter sent to that area to pick up the hostages though Carter had lost the election.
