...has pointed out in the NYT, when historians and political scientists rank presidents from best to worst, Donald Trump invariably comes out at the bottom. No surprise to most people who pay attention to realities and put aside emotions and political opinions.

People can and most likely will attack the professionals, but I'm sure they are in the right here. It's okay. History can be rewritten, but it can never really be buried. Somebody will eventually dig up the facts.

This year, to give one example, the 2024 Presidential Greatness Project released the results of a survey of 154 current and former members of the presidents and executive politics section of the American Political Science Association.

The highest ranked included no surprises: on a scale of 0 to 100, Abraham Lincoln (95.03), Franklin Roosevelt (90.83), George Washington (90.32), Teddy Roosevelt (78.58) and Thomas Jefferson (77.53).

Dead last: Donald Trump (10.92), substantially below James Buchanan (16.71), Andrew Johnson (21.56), Franklin Pierce (24.6) and William Henry Harrison (26.01).

Buchanan and Pierce both fumbled the lead up to the Civil War. Johnson fumbled Reconstruction.
But none of these men, as incompetent and corrupt as they were, came close to shredding the Constitution and fomenting insurrection to stay in power.

Trump will be remembered by historians simply as the worst President this country ever elected.

What the survey indicates is the result of a hundred years of pop culture history written by political sycophants. They love old FDR because the media loved him and ignored or justified his criminal attempts to subvert the Constitution with E.O. 9066 that authorized the arrest and incarceration of American citizens without dur process based on their ethnicity. Nixon, not JFK put a man on the moon but pop-educated Americans were taught to hate Nixon over some convoluted case "uncovered" by two WAPO reporters, one of which was the con of card carrying communists.

I read a few of Rottinghaus articles. BIG TIME Trump hater. It's not hard to figure out, just do some searching.
