Do liberals want to control 100% of the economy?

Packerland!
I don't think most liberals consciously want to control 100% of the economy.

But they don't seem to have any resistance to more and more control, and in fact seem to think we aren't anywhere near close enough yet.

What is ideal for liberals? What is enough? Is there such a thing as too much gov't control (economically-speaking) in their paradigm(s).

Wow! Are you wrong! They deserve to run it all, because they're so much smarter than you or me and if you don't believe me as Deany or Jilly

They know what's best for you.

Good to see you!

I feel like liberals would almost approach some form of happiness
if Americans and the rich in particular were taxed at 90% plus.
They would consider that a good starting off point.

If Liberals were able to spend twice of what they would take in
as far as government revenue well that just might get a smile from them.

If they were in total control of the economy on top of that.

Well that just might be enough to give them a little joy...

of course they do......until the law of diminishing returns takes over....

Mao controlled all property but his communes failed and people starved....later he allowed small private plots of land for personal use and barter and things got better...

in modern Red China today they even allow "controlled capitalism".....

There are more people in the wagon now than there are pulling the wagon, liberals gonna stop smiling soon. :D

What I can't figure out, it seems like the more they control, the angrier they get. Why is that?

See, I think that's where we make a mistake. Many of them object vehemently to the socialist label because they don't consciously see that as an end, so that distracts from discussions of the dynamics of the changes they want. I don't think it's intentional deception, not for most. I just don't think most have any idea of what the natural end will be of the changes they welcome.

Should 50% control be called socialism? I don't want to debate the semantics. I just want to have some idea of the upper limit of the gov't involvement liberals consciously welcome.

Thinking about it, I doubt they want to stop at the economy. They would rather control everything we do or think..... Cradle to Grave, don't worry we're from the government and we're here to help............

If you mean reasonable regulation to prevent pollution, protect consumers and workers- yup. Change the channel and stop being blind fools of greedy rich/corporations.

A beggar or entitlement minded person who feels they deserve everything for nothing, will never have enough to be satisfied.

You can't cure what ails you on the spiritual side, with other people's hard earned money.

Liberals think they know best and have no problem whatsoever forcing their values and principles on everyone else. It is perhaps the highest form of arrogance.
