Court sides with pharmacists against emergency contraceptives

They are not selling the pill because of their religious beliefs. Therefore, they are forcing their religion on their customers.
Then so are kosher and halal delis. Yet the way you keep running away from that, apparently you don't mind.

Your objection seems to be that ONLY Christians make business decisions based on their faith. It's okay for everyone else.

Is that true?

I think it is more simple that that, she wants to impose her beliefs on others, and those of us who refuse to go along are only doing so because we want to impose our beliefs on her.
As I said, liberals believe their every whim should be accommodated. Otherwise they're being oppressed.

The persistence of your illogic is simply amazing.

I walk into a chemist and ask for the pill.

Me: Do you have the morning after pill?
Chemist: No, we don't.
Me: Can I ask why not?
Chemist: My religious beliefs mean I do not support the use of it.

How is the chemist not forcing his beliefs on me?

Because you can go to another one, who does sell said pill.

I walk into a halal butcher

Me: Do you have pork chops?
Butcher: No, we dont
Me: Why not?
Butcher: because pork is not halal,

I then walk into a Italian Buther

Me: Do you have pork chops?
Butcher. Of course we do, why you ask? I shoulda slappa you face!
Me: 5 pork chops please

See?

You walk into a kosher deli and ask for a ham sandwich. You are told that the deli is kosher and doesn't sell pork. How is the deli not forcing its religious beliefs on you? Is the chemist or the deliman demanding you convert before you can buy anything in his store?

A Christian walks into the Metaphysical book store and asks to but a Bible. He is told that this is a pagan bookstore and they don't sell Bibles. How is the Christian not having paganism forced on him.

Here is where you migrate into not understanding.

Someone walks into a chemist and asks for contraception. The chemist says "We don't carry contraception because it's against my religious beliefs". That's not discrimination. However, if the chemist said "If you are not a Christian then I won't sell you anything at all, get out of my pharmacy" that would be discrimination.

This is really a matter of someone making a business decision about a product line not forcing religion.

Two years ago I was sued by a lesbian couple because I refused to paint their wedding portrait. They were just as clueless as you are so they lost too.

Because you are free to go to another pharmacy to get your pill.

I go into a Jewish deli
Me "I'd like a pulled pork sandwich"
them "'we Don't serve that, it's against our religion to eat pork, we are a Jewish Deli"

How is that not them forcing their religion on me?

He did not force you to enter his pharmacy.

Following your illogic, a kosher deli is forcing their beliefs on you. Following your illogic, Barnes and Noble is forcing their beliefs on you. Following your illogic, a Catholic bookstore is forcing their beliefs on you.

Just a question Noomi, suppose the pharmacist isn't religious but he is moral and it's against his moral convictions to sell the morning after pill. Is that forcing his morals on you? Are you as outraged if it's not because he's a Christian?

Forcing a pharmacist to sell an abortifacient is no different than forcing an OB/GYN to perform an abortion against her will.

Still bitterly clinging to this line of failed logic, I see.

Why are your rights more important than his? Why do you want to force your beliefs on him?

What if there is only one pharmacy in your local area and you would have to travel a long way to the next one?

But what if you were raped? I know its rare to get pregnant from a rape, but it does happen. What happens when the woman is denied the pill at the hospital and at the pharmacy? Where can she go then?

Noomi, then you have to deal with it....I'm sorry, but you cant do everything for every contingency.....I mean what if you're in an airplane and it's gonna crash? The better way is to make people not commit rape, but letting them know that forcing people into sex is a sure way to get you killed.

Look I'm all for open season on rapists...they have zero sympathy....and rape victims do have sympathy, lots of it from me, and we'll get em the help they need, I'm sorry, but after being raped, there are alot of more important things to consider

This is what we call a "first world problem." Considering you are not in Afghanistan or Zimbabwe, going to another town is not that big of deal. Also considering the size of a town with only 1 pharmacist, you probably already know he doesnt sell the pills already.

There's probably a gun store in town where you can purchase an anti-rape device.
