Zone1 Why didn’t God kill the first born of Germany?

Because there is no god.

If actual evidence is taken into consideration, this would seem to be the most plausible answer.
With so much evil attached to human existence, one might be more inclined to feel that if there is a "divine" force, it is actually more likely to be a source of pain and suffering. For entertainment? Far too many humans are simple minded and barbaric and delight in killing other living things for example.

The sheer amount and depravity of suffering in the human existence forces me to think hard about that.
If it's human free will to come up with all this evil, then why create us in the first place? Company? Entertainment?

After decades of thought, I simply cannot reconcile it all.
Religion simply creates a foundation on which mankinds collective ego is fed by an erroneous belief that humans are somehow more important in the universe than they actually are.

I wish there was justice and a "loving" God. But nothing I see factually supports that notion.

I am assuming @rightwinger is a Christian so he's not allowed to access God directly. He must go through Jesus.
I'm a Christian and I have a relationship with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. It's glorious. Kinda blows your argument out of the water, huh?

People think the bad outweighs the good. That's the nature of some humans. But by any objective measure, the good far outweighs the bad. It's not even close.

I knew you wouldn’t answer.
I said to ask the same question to the people in this thread that criticized atheism, and you couldnt do it. Because you are a hack.
Good day, pagan.

I think orgasmic is the word you’re looking for. :)

In the time of Moses, the Egyptian Pharaohs kept the Jews in slavery.
God sent Moses to demand their release. When the Pharaoh refused, God sent ten plagues onto Egypt including locusts, flies, a river running red, boils, darkness and finally killing the first born of Egypt.

But when Hitler killed six million Jews and enslaved the rest, God did nothing.

Why was that?

Aren't you an atheist?

According to near death experiencer Bryan Melvin, Adolf Hitler ended up in a scary situation even by 1982 when Bryan Melvin had one of those near death experiences. Bryan sees Hitler still going through his Life Review where he feels all that was felt by the victims of his attempt to conquer the world.

Apparently even Pope Pius could not get Adolf Hitler out of Purgatory quickly. I assume Mussolini is probably not doing so great either.

Former Atheist and near death experiencer Howard Storm was also shown more about what was going on behind the scenes during The Holocaust.

[Howard Storm] :

"I asked how God could let the Holocaust of World War II happen. We were transported to a railway station as a long train of freight cars was being unloaded of its human cargo. The guards were screaming and beating the people into submission. The people were Jewish men, women, and children. Exhausted from hunger and thirst, they were totally disoriented from the ordeal of being rounded up and sent on a long journey to an unknown destination. They believed that they were going to work camps, and that their submission to the brutality of the guards was the only way to survive.

We went to the area where the selection process was taking place and heard the guards talking about "the Angel Maker." We went to the place the guards were referring to as "the Angel Maker," which was a series of ovens. I saw piles of naked corpses being loaded into the ovens, and I began to cry. Jesus said to me, "These are the people God loves." Then he said, "Look up." Rising out of the smoke of the chimneys, I saw hundreds of people being met by thousands of angels taking them up into the sky. There was great joy in the faces of the people, and there appeared to be no trace of a memory of the horrendous suffering they had just endured. How ironic that the guards sarcastically called the ovens "the Angel Maker."

I asked how God could allow this to happen. They told me that this was not God's will. This was an abomination to God. God wants this never to happen again. This was the sacrifice of an innocent people to whom God had given the law to be an example, a light, to the rest of the world. This Holocaust was breaking God's heart. The anguish that Jesus was suffering at the slaughter of his people was too much for me to bear and I begged that we leave this place. I will never forget this: his anguish at this horror and what it represents. This was one of the low points in human history."

I asked, Why does God let things like this happen? They told me that God was very unhappy with the course of human history and was going to intervene to change the world. God had watched us sink to depths of depravity and cruelty at the very time that he was giving us the instruments to make the world a godlier world. God had intervened in the world many times before, but this time God was going to change the course of human events." (Howard Storm, My Descent Into Death, page 42,43)

Newly opened Vatican archives reveal a complex, often secret, relationship between Pope Pius XII and Hitler’s regime, characterized by back-channel negotiations and a policy of cautious, quiet diplomacy rather than direct public confrontation during the Holocaust. Pius XII sought to protect the Church, while Hitler initially sought diplomatic legitimacy.

Key aspects of the relationship and recent findings include:
  • Secret Back Channel: Within weeks of his 1939 election, Pius XII engaged in secret, direct negotiations with Hitler's envoys, including a Nazi prince acting as a personal emissary.
  • Knowledge of the Holocaust: Documents show Pius XII was informed as early as 1942 about the mass killing of Jews and Poles in Nazi-occupied territories.
  • Silence vs. Diplomacy: Historians are divided, with some arguing Pius XII maintained "silence" to avoid worsening the situation, while others suggest this quiet diplomacy helped save some Jewish lives.
  • Church Protection: Early in the war, Pius XII’s primary concern was protecting the interests of the Catholic Church in Europe.
  • Baptized Jews: The Vatican attempted to intervene to protect Jews who had converted to Catholicism.

The Pope’s role remains a topic of intense historical debate, with archives continuing to provide new, nuanced details on the interactions between the Holy See and the Third Reich
