05/16/41 -- Months before the Holocaust, journalist Pat Frank warning upon Nazis killing their own sick and old
11 May 2026 ~~ By Pat Frank

WASHINGTON| OF ALL the stories that have come out of Nazi Germany since the unhappy day that Hitler took power, the one that has caused more shivers to run up and down the spine of your correspondent was the news that the Nazis now practice euthanasia to eliminate from their super-state the ill and the aged.
This practice isn’t directed against the Jews. It is directed against Hitler’s own people the last, of pure Aryan blood, and it is positive proof that when you deal with Hitler you must not regard him as a human being, but as an inhuman fragile beast which destroys that vessel which God endowed with a soul with no more compunction than a scientist dissects a tadpole.
It is a story that we particularly recommend to all Townsendites. In three months last year the Gestapo put to death 85,000 “pure Aryans” whose only crime was that they consumed the food of the State while at the same time, through age and illness, they were unable to contribute to the Reich’s war effort.
This isn’t an atrocity story, but the relating of facts gathered by leaders of the Catholic Church in Germany and relayed both to Rome and the Catholic church in this country. It so aroused the Pope that he had published in his Acta Apostolicae Sedis—a monthly bull for the official information of his Bishops—an edict that euthanasia, or killing of the innocent,” was contrary to the laws of God. The very manner in which the Gestapo went about doing away with the aged and the ill should be a caution to the humanity that the Devil, truly, is here on earth. First they injected into the veins of the victims a subtle and deadly drug. When this was found to be expensive, they exterminated them, wholesale in hospitals,. They would place the victims in a hermetically sealed rooms, and fill it with poison gas. Even this method was an affront to the new, icy German efficiency and economy. They avoided all expense whatsoever by injecting an air bubble into the arteries, causing death when it reached the heart.
While the story is harrowing enough as it is, this writer is convinced that it is only the beginning. If the Nazis kill their own old and sick so that they will not be forced to feed them, what will they do to the old and sick of the other nations of Europe?
It is unlikely that when inhuman beasts have finished organizing their “new order" the human being—except for German “Aryans" who are both young and healthy—will be viewed not in the light of a human being at all, but as a producing machine. And just as a machine is scrapped when its cogs become worn, so will the Europeans who have knuckled under to Hitler’s “new order” be scrapped in the twilight of their productive life.
There are other dangers in the Nazi euthanasia plan which have not been spoken of, but which most certainly exist, if the Gestapo is still the Gestapo.
Imagine, if you will, that Otto Krause, the middle-aged head of a German University, but lukewarm Nazi, is head of a university. The first day that Prof. Krause goes to a hospital for a minor operation the Gestapo visit him.
"Poor Otto," says the Gestapo captain, shaking his head, you, look very ill. But I can assure you that it will be painless. If Prof. Krause protests, he will be told he is giving his life for the State, for the Nazi attitude on euthanasia is this: "If young men, fighting for their country are forced to die in the field, why shouldn’t older men who perform no useful work for the State also die for their country?”
I regret to report that since the meager details of Hitler’s enforced euthanasia leaked out, I have heard a number of good Americans say they thought euthanasia wasn’t a bad idea. They saw a good deal of logic in it.
It is not necessary to add that these fellows were all young and healthy.

Commentary:
Euthanasia was all the rage in the pre-Hitler Weimar Republic AND here in the good ole USA.
All the Progressive Enlighted Cool Kids were digging’ it.
Eugenics was supported by Democrats, as part of a broader Progressive Era movement aimed at improving societal conditions during the 1920's and 1930's. This movement often targeted marginalized groups, promoting sterilization and other measures under the guise of public health and social improvement.
As Socialism marches ever forward in America, let Democrats remember that 100,000 German homosexuals were thrown in Nazi Concentration Camps and killed.
Islamists have the same ideology and would kill them too as we have seen.
Today, euthanasia in Canada is raising concerns about its potential links to eugenics, particularly regarding the vulnerable populations, such as individuals with disabilities, who may feel pressured to choose death over living with their conditions. In Europe, countries like the Netherlands and Belgium have established laws for euthanasia, but similar ethical debates about the implications for social welfare and individual choice are ongoing.
The question is how long before Democrats once again embrace and push euthanasia and eugenics in America, while calling Republicans and conservatives "Nazi's"
