I mean the Greek campaign and the Italian campaign in WW2 as well. Churchill didn't stint.

New Zealanders were sent to the island of Crete because they were mountain-trained. To this day, the Greeks of Crete hold them in high regard. I know this from personal experience. Most New Zealanders were evacuated by British submarines after the parachute invasion of the island.
