What Have You Done?

Norris was a tough fellow I seen the fight were he was destroyed early by Julian Jackson. It was quick and a shock.
We were all shocked at that outcome. The early prediction was that Terry would be able to outbox Jackson and take a decision, but he got careless and got caught early. Jackson was a one punch knockout specialist. No room for a single mistake with him.

I remember jonhnny Tapia
He was really a super nice guy, and a great fighter but emotionally tortured and substance addicted. He had actually been getting in some work training kids after he stopped fighting.

I still keep in touch with his widow, Theresa to this day.

Julian Jackson had fucking sledgehammers for fists. Terrifying power.

And then he ran into a guy named Gerald McClellan, who ran into a guy named Nigel Benn.

You can die in that ring.

I identified the "scientific" theory for constructing a reliable information classification system necessary for the artificial intelligence interface that modern society is anticipating.

I grew an 84 lb pumpkin this year and have one still on the vine that has to go over 100 lbs. Nowhere near any kind of record but satisfying after trying for a couple of years.
Wow! That's awesome!

What happens to it once done growing?

Does it become a feast for all the creatures in the Animal kingdom neighborhood??

Julian Jackson was one of the greatest punchers in history. I would have loved to see him versus Thomas Hearns at Jr. Middleweight(154 pounds)

You're right about any day in the ring being your last.

You can "PLAY" football, baseball and basketball, but you don't "PLAY" boxing.

Oh, I love JJ, but Hearns. The freakish reach and devastating right hand set up by the jab. Jackson wouldn't have gotten close enough to him to do the damage. I know that JJ had one-punch power but the only guy who really took out Hearns was a naturally bigger middleweight, Marvin Hagler, who really beat Hearns by going to the body and never letting him breathe.

I agree that Hagler was just too strong for Hearns. I think he was best at 154, because his 6'1 height made it difficult to stay at 147. And Jackson was a natural 154 pounder. It would have likely been bombs away for a couple of rounds with Hearns winning by K.O. before the 5th. JMO.

I think the first round or two would have been entertaining as hell and Jackson would have probably rocked Hearns with a goodie or two before Emmanuel Steward reminded Hearns what his advantages are, his long reach, his left jab to the head and body, and his crushing right hand power. Jackson would have eaten leather and one taste of a guy who can bang just as hard as he can and he would have had to respect Hit Man's power. I agree: over by the 5th if not sooner.

Re Hagler, he was one of those rare just straight-up bad ass fighters. He is in my mind a bigger, stronger version of Julio Caesar Chavez. Just relentless. Not flashy. Just devastating work to the body and head and never gave a fighter space to back up and throw exchanges.

Hagler was one of those guys that would have been a fit in any era, IMO.

Technically sound, great conditioning and fearless.

By the time that Leonard finally agreed to a match with him, I think Hagler had more or less mentally checked out and retired by then.
He had already cleaned out every legitimate challenger in the division, had held the undisputed title for 7 years and had lost some of the edge that he had in previous fights. However, the outcome was still debatable.

I was totally shocked when he died last year, and what really happened is still a mystery.

I made friends with a wild deer when I was about 14. I gave her a butt scratch she never forgot.

We were good friends for about a week.

For all you non-believers out there :)

I saw and nearly touched, Pope Paul the 6th, at the Vatican when we were on vacation with family in Rome, as a young teenager.

I've driven The Road To Hana with hubby, in Maui!!!:eek::eek:

Never, ever! Never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, will Matt and I do that again!!!

What have you done that you think perhaps no one else here has done?
Nothing. I try not to make comparisons between myself and anyone else. Katt Williams expresses it best:

I expect people to share their experiences because we could (and have) witness the exact same event or watch world events unfold and we have different points of view because we have different world views. We could be brother and sister and experience the same event and walk away with two very different perceptions and be impacted in two very different ways. That's text book.
