Boehner backs Paul Ryan for president

The Washington Establishment Poster Child For Political Abortions, John Boehner, just declared Paul Ryan, who is not even running for President, should BE President.

Although no longer Speaker of the House, Boehner continues to try to 'F*' Conservatives like he used to do while Speaker.

Polls recently showed that all of the Washington Establishment GOP attacks, scheming, and plans to circumvent the will of the people by stripping the candidate who is supported by the majority of the GOP Base is only creating more and more support for Trump.

If POSes like Boehner continue down this road and tries to steal the nomination they will succeed in destroying the GOP as a party. The American people - GOP party members - will revolt, abandoning the GOP.

That might be one of the best possible things that can happen for the country...

The GOP overwhelmingly would vote for Ryan.

Not so much for Trump.

Thanks for proving liberals know NOTHING about Conservatives....

The majority of conservatives see Ryan as 'Darth' Boehner's 'Padawan', actually a Washington Establishment 'Sith' apprentice.

The star wars reference is rock solid evidence of the maturity and intelligence level of some conservatives.

Ryan is a lifelong Washington- insider who merely wants to keep the taxpayer- funded gravy train rolling. IOW's- he's a weasel

Based on the ignorance of your post I tried to put it in simple terms you would understand...

(Most people stutter when they talk...you 'stuttered' [double-post] when you 'posted'....might want to have that checked out...)

This would be seen as a coup. I would vote for Hillary if they did this.

Now instead of "anyone but Trump" we have the Rove machine churning away furiously to "anyone but Kasich"... They want their powerhold and they want it BADLY. Kasich wants to unify the country and keep actual conservative and pragmatic values intact. The good old boys want nothing to do with that. Trump wants to smash down their stronghold with wrecking ball. Kasich wants to do it with a surgeon's knife. Either one is wholly unacceptable to "business as usual" in the thugs that have been running the GOP since...well...since Dick Cheney started whispering in their ear many decades ago.

Can you imagine such a devious self-appointed Oligarchy snatching away the nomination from EVERY candidate in the race and simply giving it to someone THEY chose, who wasn't even in the race?!

This is beyond 'nuts' - it's 'dangerous', a definite threat...

The good news is if the establishment did force a nominee at the convention the rep party would go down in flames in nov.

"Political parties, not voters, choose their presidential nominees, a Republican convention rules member told CNBC, a day after GOP front-runner Donald Trump rolled up more big primary victories.

"The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That's the conflict here," Curly Haugland, an unbound GOP delegate from North Dakota, told CNBC's "Squawk Box" on Wednesday. He even questioned why primaries and caucuses are held.

Haugland is one of 112 Republican delegates who are not required to cast their support for any one candidate because their states and territories don't hold primaries or caucuses.

Even with Trump's huge projected delegate haul in four state primaries Tuesday, the odds are increasing the billionaire businessman may not ultimately get the 1,237 delegates needed to claim the GOP nomination before the convention.

Most delegates bound by their state's primary or caucus results are only committed on the first ballot. If subsequent ballots are needed, virtually all of the delegates can vote any way they want, said Gary Emineth, another unbound delegate from North Dakota.

"It could introduce Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, or it could be the other candidates that have already been in the race and are now out of the race [such as] Mike Huckabee [or] Rick Santorum. All those people could eventually become candidates on the floor," Emineth said."

"So bye, bye, Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey 'n rye
Singin' Everything is now going to hell
Everything is now going to hell
The Day ...the Nation ...Fell"

Yeah, go on and vote, if it makes you feel good, but if you think your vote actually matters one damn bit anymore you're sadly mistaken...

You are going to have 1000+ Trumpbots and 1000+ Cruz supporters at the convention. 2000 + who would NOT any circumstances vote for Bohner or Ryan or any of that ilk

Are you now psychic?
There is no way you could know what or if I would respond to your lame movie reference.
The simplistic nature of your words was all on you .
Attempting to shift blame to an unknowable response is silly and sad.
Btw how desperate do you have to point out a common mistake?

If the GOP selects anyone other than those duly qualified under its own rules, including rule 40B, they will be destroying the GOP.

That says more about Boehner being a corporate crony sell out than it says anything at all about the GOP.

Ryan is an Establ robot. Went to DC as an intern and been sucking on the gov't teet ever since. He's a lap poodle of the 1%

I would actually vote for Ryan over Hillary, but Ryan does not want to be President and it would be political suicide for him to take the nomination...
So it was said about him being Romney's running mate or taking the Speaker's seat. So we will see.
