Zone1 If Jesus Was A Jew

In Judaism, immersion in a ritual pool was part of every Jew's life. It has nothing to do with the arrival of the Messiah.
Baptisms were a new concept... Jesus began his ministry after his baptism...

The baptism was a crucial first step in Jesus' ministry, which led to his crucifixion. It was also a new ritual within Judaism that marked the arrival of the Messiah

Ah, a NEW ritual. So not part of Judaism.

Jews were coming to John to be baptized. He sent many away and told them to come back with "fruit that showed true repentance"

It was John the Baptist in the river Jordon and he wanted to spread the world of the teachings in the first testament and Judaism... At first he was reluctant to baptize Jesus but he did after meeting with him...

Your Christian source uses a poor translation and doesn't address the history and facts which prove the claim wrong. Of course that was all in the web page I linked to that you didn't read...
This is what a contradiction looks like.

does not come close to doing anything for me----tenuous connections to
this or that phrase.

It's almost funny---what christians make of john the mikveh man

Jews were coming to the Jordan to "be baptized..." by John? Jews don't need
anyone to help JUMP them into the Jordan to engage in the old time MIKVEH
ceremony----what does "baptized by john...." mean?

If you can't follow the discussion, I can't help you. It's because you don't want to.
and if you want to make unsupported statements and not give any proof, then you just go ahead and do that. Those of us who understand what argumentation is will keep laughing at you.

15th post
nope---your source is not a jewish one----immersion was ALSO done
as a part of repentence LONG BEFORE little Jesus was born in the manger
or his cousin JOHN was born----try as you will----you cannot make the
act of "christian origin" ----nice of you to adopt it
John the Baptist would have sent you away and told you to bring forth fruit fitting of repentance

Then why aren't Christians Jewish? I don't get it. 🤔
They are Jews, you are correct and this is revealed by Christ, here:
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
The term Jew is a term that has a physical and spiritual meaning. Many prophecies about "Jews" are prophecies about Christians, those who have been called out spiritually much as Jews were called out physically in the Exodus.

Many people only consider physical Jew when trying to understand scripture, yet here we have it plain, physical Jews are NOT "Jews" they are not what is meant. A "real" Jew is one who has been called out, chosen, by God.

the funniest part of all this is the use of the word "Jew" (Ἰουδαῖός) in relatively early Christian texts when that wasn't a word that Jews would have used to identify themselves until very late in the textual game, so none of the biblical prophecies would have mentioned "Jews".
