After the sham of last night's Republican presidential debate, it is clear that liberal media cannot be trusted to moderate. These debates are supposed to give Republican voters an opportunity to see/hear the candidates, and thus be betTer informed, as to who they should choose to vote for.

They should not be a display of flaming liberals taking target practice at the candidates, and denigrating and insulting them every way they can. Looking at the schedule of debates over the next few monthS, I see 5 that should be revised from who is doing the moderating, or they should be canceled entirely. There are also 3 Fox News sponsored debates scheduled in November, January, and March. That is plenty. We're seeing these candidates on TV news shows everyday anyway.

Priebus: Say, there were a lot of gotcha questions last night, huh?
posted at 9:21 am on October 29, 2015 by Ed Morrissey

There may be a few questions for Reince Priebus from the campaigns too, after last night’s debate debacle, but the RNC chair went on offense immediately afterward. Priebus told reporters in the spin room that “CNBC should be ashamed” of its performance last night, although Priebus hailed the Republican candidates for “sticking together” under fire:

But is CNBC ashamed? Not yet, anyway. The Hill’s Ben Kamisar reports that the debate moderators decamped to the only friendly turf they could find — sister channel MSNBC — where Chris Matthews assured them that their critics were just meany conservatives looking to pick a fight:

“There were a lot of conservatives before the debate who were urging them to go hard after the media, and that’s what they did,” moderator John Harwood said during an interview late Wednesday night on MSNBC’s “Hardball.”

“Some of those questions, especially considering the prescriptions they are offering, are questions that feel hostile to those Republican candidates.” …

Harwood and fellow moderator Sharon Epperson criticized the candidates for obfuscating the facts. They specifically mentioned Sen. Marco Rubio’s (Fla.) accusation that Harwood mischaracterized his tax plan, which Harwood said was not true, as well as Trump telling moderator Becky Quick that he had never criticized Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg when the criticism is included on his campaign site.

Harwood argued that a Tax Foundation analysis of Rubio’s tax plan showed that it favored the wealthy more than the poor, and Rubio responded by reminding Harwood that he had to correct a similar statement earlier in the month. Harwood vehemently denied that, which makes this a little … embarrassing:

CORRECTING earlier tweet: Tax Foundation says Rubio benefits lowest 10% proportionally more (55.9) than top 1% (27.9%). Avg for all: 17.8%.

SNIP:
Perhaps the answer should be that the RNC — and the DNC as well — should take control of their own debates by using alternate methods of broadcasting. Broadband has a wide enough footprint in the US to make that a viable option, and that would give the GOP the ability to choose moderators from somewhere other than the New York Times. People who want to engage in these debates can find ways to access them, and the political media will cover them no matter how they get broadcast. It might be time to explore new vistas than the old alphabet-soup broadcasters and cablers.

ALL of it at the site:

 That's some funny shit right there.

I gotta tell ya, I have never heard CNBC called "the liberal media" until today. People who say that have probably never watched even five minutes of that channel.

We heard the same whining about the debates after the FOX NEWS debate.

Fox News!!!

and on and on. You on the left refuse to acknowledge the left biases in this media so that's why they do this shit. It says more about you people that you don't care about an Honest debate for both parties

The good questions were good, the inflammatory questions were inflammatory, but there were quite a number of GOOD questions.

The candidates destroyed themselves. They didn't need any help at all from the moderators. They spent the entire debate attacking each other and telling the audience how much their GOP competitors suck.

There were ten Trumps on that stage last night, and it was ugly, ugly, ugly.

"Upcoming Republican Debates Need To Be Revised"

More whining from the ridiculous right.

The problem isn't the 'debates,' or the myth of the 'liberal media.'

The problem is the candidates themselves, and the fact that they're wrong on most of the issues, something whining about 'the media' won't fix.

The debates do need to be revised.

Each candidate needs to be given ten uninterrupted minutes to explain their tax plans. Some of them have pretty good plans. They at least have some very good elements.

That should be one debate.

I've seen more control from 10 kids standing in line at the neighborhood ice cream truck ...

mods fault my ass.

They really know their base, don't they? Nothing seems to appeal to movement conservatives quite like petulant victimhood.
sounds like you and this post of yours
You don't see conservatives on here stating how they all looked Presidential or how the Republicans were beating up on the lying old lady, Hillary. You're projecting again

"Hell in the cell" I'm in for paid for views.

OMG last night was awesome. They bitch slapped the freaking liberal mods.

About time.

There is absolutely NO REASON to use leftist idiots as moderators. Ask TALK RADIO guys to do it, and has anyone noticed the PRICE CNN charged for commercials during that debate....$200K a minute! The RNC should OPEN BIDDING to see how many MILLION they could be paid for the debates to be held on a particular channel. This last CNBC debate had 14 MILLION people watching, the LARGEST VIEWER AUDIENCE that CNBC has ever had.... Of course doing this would take THINKING MEMBERS of the RNC, and since the RNC is filled with RINO'S, there isn't a 3 digit IQ'd person to be found in the group!

last night only helped them, not hurt them in the least.

you can go on facebook and twitter to see that as a Fact.

so scream all you want about how they're petulant, whiners blaa blaa blaa. because it's coming back to bite the Democrats in ass.

So let these left leaning moderator jerks keep doing their debates, all the way up until the people are going to vote

You're actually trying to say that these 3 goons were anything other than attack liberals, 100% on the attack ? (which EVERYONE knows) You're also a bit off topic. There's no argument that these liberals were attacking, and nothing much else. The topic is how the upcoming Republican debates should be REVISED, to prevent more of this.

In both the 2nd and 3rd debates, "moderated" by liberals, the moderators egged the candidates on, to attack each other. Their game was to denigrate the Republican Party, and use the candidates themselves to do it. What was "ugly" was those moderators.

It was the most atrocious display of lack of respect and almost criminal bias in the history of debates. The crowd actually booed the questions before they were answered. The mainstream media at least used to retain a semblance of decorum but last night proved how completely insane with hatred they have become. Mark Rubio is my new political hero for pointing it out.
