Unintended consequences of Trump's war on the post office: veterans not getting their medicines on time

A lot of veterans receive their medicine via the post office. When Trump and his USPS chief buddy delayed mail in order to slow down mail ballots, they didn't think about the consequences.
Everything gets delayed and even many of good supporters will end up affected and pissed off:
Policy changes that slow delivery at the U.S. Postal Service are taking a toll on military veterans, who are reporting much longer wait times to receive mail-order prescription drugs, according to Democratic senators.

In a letter Friday, the 31 senators take aim at new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, a GOP fundraiser who took the post in June and has since imposed several operational changes that have led to mail backlogs across the United States. His cost-cutting measures have come as President Donald Trump rails against increases in mail-in voting and says he may hold up postal funding to impede the balloting in November.

We have 838 homes in my Del Webb retirement community, with many veterans.
Not one is complaining and I speak with them constantly at the Clubhouse.

True story.
Your are lying about speaking to those veterans, and you don't say how many of them get medicine by mail.

Memos from post office leadership, obtained earlier this month by The Associated Press, detailed an elimination of overtime and a halting of late delivery trips that are sometimes needed to make sure deliveries arrive on time. One document said if distribution centers are running behind, “they will keep the mail for the next day.” Another said: “One aspect of these changes that may be difficult for employees is that — temporarily — we may see mail left behind or mail on the workroom floor or docks.”

"VA fills about 80% of veteran prescriptions by mail. That translates to almost 120 million prescriptions a year, with deliveries arriving daily to about 330,000 veterans across the country."

So America is supposed to trust these turds with our voting ballots?

How do you know it was unintended?

The postmaster general knows that our vets get their medications through the mail. He also knows that millions of other Americans get their medications through the mail.

I don't believe this is an unintended consequence.

They are even hauling away mailboxes in NYC...

It is not that they did not think. They just did not care. US mail may have been around as a part of government since the beginning, but I do I think they would rather private carriers were more favored and of course, screwing up elections by keeping people from voting is something all republicans are about these days. Trump says republicans cannot win if people are allowed to vote. Trump has requested his mail-in voting ballot, so either it is pretty good or he doesn't care about any election but his own, and that would not surprise me either.

It's the veterans versus a troll from a message board:
"More than two dozen veterans and more than half a dozen VA employees who work in department pharmacies nationwide reported delays for mail-order prescriptions to Connecting Vets."
Guess who the "reported delays" are being "reported" by.

Uh, Democrats ? Good guess.

No delays in my VA mail meds.

Post Office is already deluged with mail, and cannot withstand more mail in large amounts added. What will cause delays in mail, is mail voting, not anything that Trump does.

The only time the American Taliban cares about Veterans

HA HA HA. Leftists will say anything. You got a source/link to the preposterous claim that >> "Trump says republicans cannot win if people are allowed to vote." Go ahead. Dredge something up from the fake news. Let's hear it, for a laugh.

Secondly, Democrats are the ones who are screwing up elections, by NOT keeping people from voting - illegal aliens, whose votes they need to win elections.

Obama Assails Trump For Attacks On Mail-In Voting

The former president also urged Americans to vote as early as they can.

Former President Barack Obama on Friday implored Americans to vote as early as possible and implicitly assailed President Donald Trump for his assault on mail-in voting and the U.S. Postal Service.

“Everyone depends on the USPS. Seniors for their Social Security, veterans for their prescriptions, small businesses trying to keep their doors open. They can’t be collateral damage for an administration more concerned with suppressing the vote than suppressing a virus,” Obama tweeted.

He went on to urge voters to vote as early as they can.

“The more votes in early, the less likely you’re going to see a last minute crunch, both at polling places and in states where mail-in ballots are permitted,” he tweeted. “Then tell everyone you know.”

I agree! Thank you President Obama!

Hell, just not vets a lot of older people get drugs through the mail. Some durable medical equipment. Not to mention the drugs coming from Canada that many have been ordering for years and now Trump himself wants this legal. There is quite a few consequences. There are still some senior's who receive their SS through the mail. It's not he doesn't know what he's done he doesn't give a shit. It has always been about him and always will be.

They dont care. They want to suppress the vote.

I understand he has requested his vote by mail ballot for an upcoming Florida election. Must work pretty good. Bet he votes early and mails early, with the damage done to the Postal Service under his watch.

That stupid fuck won because of mail in ballots. He requested his mail in too late but they mailed it anyway to Mar a lago two days ago.

Yea he probably is and since this just started the real affects won't be felt for a few more weeks.
