Anyone else reminded of the 70s when the Democrats controlled congress and POTUS Carter to boot? It's not just gas, look at the misery index, inflation, the border crises and OH Shit, they one-upped on the cold war with a hot war in Europe.

Let's see which States have the highest cases prices, just for kicks. This was as of March:
  • California ($5.44) Voted for Biden
  • Hawaii ($4.71) Voted for Biden
  • Nevada ($4.67) Voted for Biden
  • Oregon ($4.58) Voted for Biden
  • Washington ($4.54) Voted for Biden
  • Alaska ($4.50) Voted for Trump but the State lacks the infrastructure naturally.
  • Illinois ($4.42) Voted for Biden
  • New York ($4.36) Voted for Biden
  • Connecticut ($4.35) Voted for Biden
  • Pennsylvania ($4.31) Voted for Biden

Fake news. Current dollars have nowhere near the previous values. 36 cents a gallon in 1970 is over $7 in today's dollar, so your gas isn't even close to 1970's per gallon price yet.

Those prices are closer to the 1920's prices, when 14 cents to 16 cents/gal were normal. Refineries weren't that sophisticated and efficient back then.

ILMAO at fake news, there's nothing fake about it, and the OP isn't news. But right? without Biden's inflation on everything, these gas prices would look worse.

Your 1970 business is wrong. 1970 = 36 cents a ga. which is equal to $2.63 today.

Never mind I paid $6 at the pump in California almost two months ago, today it's more. Sounds awfully close to the $7 you quoted.

In other terms, much worse today than 1970.

Let's go Brandon.

Ridiculous. You suddenly believe govt. claims of what inflation has been over the last 50 years? That's cute.

Yes. That's how I found Seeking Alpha and shadowstats, com, while you're still pretending fake govt. stats are real.

Yousaid 1970 gas prices would be equal to $7 today. Where have you supported that? I gave you a link showing that's not true.

"From 1960 through 1965 nominal gas prices bounced between 30 and 31 cents a gallon while the inflation-adjusted price fell from $2.97 to $2.79. But then the nominal price of gas started to climb and by 1970 had increased 20% to 36 cents a gallon but on an inflation-adjusted basis, gas prices had actually fallen to $2.63. And by 1972 gas on an inflation-adjusted basis was a real bargain at $2.44 a gallon."
