Obama did have problems from the very start because he never had the House and the Senate in his favor and his color also prevented many Whites from ever doing anything he suggested. As such, Obama's economy numbers were not great either. On top of that, he inherited a recession, which also prevented his numbers from being great.

But when you go back 50 years, neither Obama nor Trump can compare with other presidents. In fact, Democrat Clinton had triple the success with the economy than Trump did.

Cracks me up how no one on the right spoke about the U-6 unemployment rate during Bush's 8 years in office even though he left office with a higher unemployment rate than when he started.

Then Obama becomes president and when the unemployment began dropping, all the right talked about was the U-6 u employment rate.

Then Trump becomes president and suddenly, the right reverts back to the U-3 unemployment rate. Like Bush, he too leaves office with a higher unemployment rate than when he started.

Now Biden is president and yet again, nighties are favoring the U-6 rate over the U-3 rate.
