I have noticed in Latin American tv from Telemundo and such on their Telenovelas that LGBT people are shown in a bad way.

Like on the show they use very outdated stereotypes that would nowadays cause a tv program in the US to stop airing.

The reason for the kids committing suicide i think is either the bullying the kids receive or the way that they are told by closed minded people that they are sick and need treatment.

The point is: No one follows biblical laws to the letter, Christian or Jew. If a Christian going to cherry pick the biblical laws they want to follow and ignore the laws they don't, then why not ignore the laws that depict people of a certain sexual orientation or gender identity as being worthy of condemnation? Justifying a personal bias on an ancient biblical law when you blatantly ignore other ancient biblical laws doesn't seem like something Jesus would do.

When Homosexuality Stopped Being a Mental Disorder

In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) asked all members attending its convention to vote on whether they believed homosexuality to be a mental disorder. 5,854 psychiatrists voted to remove homosexuality from the DSM, and 3,810 to retain it.

The APA then compromised, removing homosexuality from the DSM but replacing it, in effect, with "sexual orientation disturbance" for people "in conflict with" their sexual orientation. Not until 1987 did homosexuality completely fall out of the DSM.

The docs still file court papers to commit LGBT people for involuntary mental hospitalization — being transgender is diagnosed as schizophrenia, and bisexuality is termed bipolar illness, etc. — but the talk of the pimps in the back room where the real deals go down is all about the sanctity of marriage and the church law of Christ and the harmony of a man with a woman, and the sad necessity of "putting away" unwanted spouses and family members in the mental hospital.

But i think you can probably complain to the ACLU about wrongful imprisionment.

Cause i think the law now works is that someone cannot be locked away against their will,unless if they are a threat to others.
