That is precisely where contraceptive and education services need to be expanded. It makes no sense to me for the extreme right to dig in their heels on "Life begins at conception". There has to be some compromise and more consistency across the states because the unwanted pregnancies will never stop.Expect that “morning after pills” and even most popular contraceptives (that prevent a fertilized zygote from attaching to a woman’s body) will be next to be outlawed. And why not? They are already “human beings,” “babies” and the “unborn” who are being “genocided” … according to religious zealots.
But of course family planning education should — and generally does — emphasize contraception and that abortions (when contraception fails or unwanted pregnancies occur) should be carried out as early as possible. Pretty hard to do when poor women have no help, no sex education, no local Planned Parenthood centers … in whole states.
