Well, how was the first way they discovered a woman committed adultery? When she was knocked up and she didn't have a husband! Heck, God even called for stoning women to death if they were raped in the city and didn't cry out.

So, one's status and existence as a human begin is wholly contingent on a piece of paper that represents a government's recognition of him as such?

Everyone in the US has tons of blood on our hands, from the 3 million innocent Vietnamese we murdered, the half million innocent Iraqis we murdered, etc.
A fetus is unconscious and never even opened their eyes.

According to official government statistics:
* 94-97% of abortions towards the end of the 1st trimester are surgical
* Between 4 and 8 weeks, there are more surgical than medical abortions

All the more reason to promote birth control and early pregnancy termination drugs for unwanted pregnancies. Every effort should be taken to reduce the need for surgical abortions.

Expect that “morning after pills” and even most popular contraceptives (that prevent a fertilized zygote from attaching to a woman’s body) will be next to be outlawed. And why not? They are already “human beings,” “babies” and the “unborn” who are being “genocided” … according to religious zealots.

But of course family planning education should — and generally does — emphasize contraception and that abortions (when contraception fails or unwanted pregnancies occur) should be carried out as early as possible. Pretty hard to do when poor women have no help, no sex education, no local Planned Parenthood centers … in whole states.
