The Israeli right wing ...

The Israeli far right wing would be in opposition to where the wall is going, did you realize?
Secondly the HUGE difference between a palestinian ghetto and a gestappo ghetto would be the fact that it was there before the wall, and despite the poor conditions, the birth rate/ immigration is much higher than the Israeli settlements.
Thirdly should I even bother to post all of the other differences, or should I just point you to a Holocaust museum?

The wall is there to prevent suicide bombers from attacking Israeli settlements.

If you want WW2 parallels why not compare the 'palestinians' and the Arab fundamental rulers to Hitler and the 'Sudeten Germans'? The thorn in germany's side that was Checkoslovakia?:cof:

How can you compare those two? The jews were never suicide bombing germans!

...Has become what they fled in the 1930's and 1940's. With the building of their wall, they are creating a Palestinian ghetto.
Depends how you look at it,you certainly have not......because they have built themselves a Jewish Ghetto actually........they have physically built, what has always been in their heads "A siege Mentality"and in doing so,gone back to pre-biblical times.

It could have been so different......that's Zionism for you.

This 10 year old post is as dumb now as it was then. Perhaps this person should have read up on the Warsaw Ghetto. Jews were rounded up and shot regularly there.

That happens to be the WALL separating the Warsaw Ghetto from the rest of the outside world in World War II Germany.

Bullypulpit, et al,

The wall is a containment and quarantine measure for security purposes.

If Palestine is a Ghetto, it is because the Palestinians made it so. Remember, Israel does not encircle either the Gaza Strip of the West Bank. There are borders with Arab Jordan and Arab Egypt.

Second, any country has the right to open or close its borders at its discretion; without external interference.

"Israeli settlements," nothing but two words euphemistically used for the single word 'theft'. Oh you Zionist kid you . . . who do you think you're fooling? ~ Susan

et al,

There is no theft here at all.

Under the Oslo Accords, the West Bank was divided into three separate parts designated as Area A, Area B and Area C. Leaving aside the position of East Jerusalem, all of the settlements are in Area C which comprises about 60% of the West Bank.

The issue of the Settlements are an agreement between Israel and Palestine and subject to Article XXI - Settlement of Differences and Disputes in Oslo II, and Article XV - Resolution of Disputes in Oslo I.

TRANSITIONAL PERIOD AND PERMANENT STATUS NEGOTIATIONS

1. The five-year transitional period will begin upon the withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and Jericho area.

2. Permanent status negotiations will commence as soon as possible, but not later than the beginning of the third year of the interim period, between the Government of Israel and the Palestinian people's representatives.

3. It is understood that these negotiations shall cover remaining issues, including: Jerusalem, refugees, settlements, security arrangements, borders, relations and cooperation with other neighbours, and other issues of common interest.

4. The two parties agree that the outcome of the permanent status negotiations should not be prejudiced or preempted by agreements reached for the interim period.

There is no theft at all. The Palestinians agreed to it. If they want to dispute it, they must negotiate. Whining about it (playing the part of the virtual victim) is not going to change anything. And spreading misinformation about it is only going to aggravate the situation even more.

It's easy! The similarities are startling.

Both were trashed 24/7
Both were blamed for all the problems in the country
Both lived under laws that made them 2nd class citizens
Violence against both of them, became acceptable to the general population
Both were subjected to ethnic cleansing by the ruling government

Note this not a comparison with the Holocaust, but with the 10 years before.

There are two types of walls, more like ideologies and they are nearly the same except the initial idea behind them.
Both serve to separate societies;
The only difference is to protect or not.
