Zone1 The Feast of Tabernacles "Sukkot"

There’s a LOT you don’t understand about how Jews have survived 2000 years of bigotry, expulsions, persecutions, blood libel, and mass murder.
It goes back a LOT longer than that. Thousands of years. Since the beginning Israel has been surrounded by more powerful and numerous nations that, for some mysterious reason, have been hell bent on getting the Jewish people to eat pork and worship that which is not God.

I suppose in a world where insanity is the norm sanity must be a terrifying threat to be destroyed

All we want really want is to be left allow to observe our religion and do Gd’s mitzvot without Christians and Muslims either talking about how we’re “cursed,” or telling us we’re bound for hell, or rounding us up to be exterminated, or expelled, or what-have-you.

A key difference is that Judaism never makes reference to Christians or Muslims. The converse is not true.

And thank you for your support.

One thing that has become painfully clear to me over the years is that all 'religious' people who are panicking about the end of the world, Judgment day, Jesus is coming and all that, saying that "unbelievers" are going to hell to suffer in torment for all eternity are the lost souls already in hell.

I guess if I was lying in the name of God, celebrating the death of Jesus, desecrating his teaching as a matter of religious devotion, by eating a cracker for spiritual life, I would be panicking too.

I heard that Jesus could be a hard ass pissed off son of a bitch. :ack-1: But thats just what I heard.

Careful……Christians like Woodnutz get OUTRAGED if you bring up a negative aspect of Jesus’ personality, but then expect Jews to just quietly accept their lashes about “curses,” “damned to hell,” “being blind,” etc.

Thanks, but not to worry! I was born immune to the poison of serpents. They should be terrified.
I have many friends in very high and very low places, a working brain, and I ain't afraid to use it.

Sorry Lisa, but Christians and Jews are 'joined at the hip' in case you haven't noticed the big picture. What happens to you affects us. See Ezekiel 5.

"Sukkot" may be a Jewish 'holiday', but the Feast of Tabernacles was commanded for all of Israel. All the holy days point to Jesus the Christ but Jews have changed the meaning of them to exclude Christ. You've poked yer own eyes out.
All holy days point to God.

It was a general statement, of course there are exceptions, but they "prove the rule". Weren't you taught that gentiles are morally inferior to Jews?
Take a look at some of Paul's letters. He speaks out against those not living as God's people, but who instead are worldly. While atheists don't live as God people, not all fit Paul's category as "worldly." In the same way, Gentiles can be placed in the same category as 'worldly' but Jews have always been cognizant of Gentiles who they called God Fearers. Further, no insult was directed towards the worldly, nor towards Gentiles. The call was a reminder of what more was expected of Jews or those 'living as God's people'.

Neither is a put down, but a call for the faithful to rise above, to be more.

This "curse" business is real, as history has witnessed. God has chosen certain people to carry out your punishment.
Then it may be better to look at the "punishment" that will be upon us.

Another thought: True servants of God are indeed suffering servants, just as described by Isaiah.

Your religion is virulently antichrist even if you personally are not.
It is not. First, thanks to Christians, Jews do not even know Jesus, the man, and that's a shame. Second, faithful Jews are so focused on their faith, they pay no more attention to Jesus than they do Brahma or Zef. For the vast majority, being "anti-christ" would be like being anti-Ares. It wouldn't cross their minds to give either even that much thought.

This is it, exactly. You understand us so well!

We are not anti-Jesus. He has no bearing on our community at all. It’s the same as if someone accused me of being….oh, I don’t know….anti-Lincoln, Nebraska.

We are NOT joined at the hip. What happens to us, happens to us - and has no bearing on Christians FROM OUR POINT OF VIEW.

The whole End of Days thing is a Christian concept. It plays no role in Judaism.

Nooo! Never anti-Lincoln, Nebraska!!!! I love that sunken garden there! :)

Dang! And I thought I picked such a safe example.

OK….so it’s like being anti-Overton, Kansas. We never mention it in our services, my friends and I don’t think about it, and it just is a non-factor in my life.

Grin. As far as I recall, I've never been through Overton, Kansas!

Jewish scholars and Rabbis pay great attention to Jesus Christ, even if the laity doesn't.

So what's this all about?
