The Feast of Tabernacles

Throughout this feast , in many Jewish homes and synagogues, a such will be contracted. A sukkah (meaning tabernacle or booth) is a temporary structure made out of the lumber, grass, or any other natural substance, and is decorated with natural materials including tree branches, leaves, flowers, vegetables, and fruit. During the celebration of Sukkot, many people will eat their meals and sleep in the sukkah for the entire seven days of the feast. While in the sukkah, Jewish people remember how they had nothing in the wilderness but God, who for forty years supplied their every need.

Yes, because there were no Christians when Gd gave the Jews the Torah. Jesus simply reiterated Jewish law, and once Christianity took place, Christians adopted Jewish law as their base. They changed sabbath to Sunday to distinguish themselves, and dropped the kashrut, but the base remains the 10 Commandments.

Returning A Non-Jew’s Lost Item

In this week’s parshah, Yosef is the ruler of Mitzrayim and his brothers come to purchase food from him, not realizing with whom they were dealing.

Jesus condemned them for not following the law, substituting their tradition instead. Jesus knew the law backward and forward.

The question was when did the feast, given to all Israel, become a feast of the Jews only? The partial answer is in verse 41.

Agree. And here’s the kicker - most of them aren’t even Jews (and never were). Sometime back around 50 years ago or so, when their pressure to harrass Jews into converting to Christianity was failing bigtime, some Christians got the “brainstorm” that they could PRETEND to be Jews who also believed in Jesus, hoping as you say that some Jews would fall for it.

Sometime back around 50 years ago or so, when their pressure to harrass Jews into converting to Christianity was failing bigtime, some Christians got the “brainstorm” that they could PRETEND to be Jews who also believed in Jesus, hoping as you say that some Jews would fall for it.

They prey on the emotionally vulnerable or those without Jewish education.

They are particularly active at Jewish nursing homes.

I’ve been the target of “missionary appeals” all my life and these are the only ones I just want to beat with a crowbar.

Me, too. These missionaries are blind to the fact that they will not be able to convert a traditional Jewish woman, brought up in a traditional Jewish home, and comfortable in her faith. I remember telling my cousin how I had an evangelical couple “after me” - they were relentless, with their constant scare tactics about hell - in an effort to get me to convert to Christianity, to which my cousin asked “what in the world ever made them think they could do it?”

It just shows how little these Evangelicals understand about Jews.

Interesting. The evangelical couple I mentioned who were after me to convert were southern Baptists. And they were clueless. I recall the woman “warning” me that Jesus said the only way to the Father is through the son (as if I never heard that before, lol). She actually thought she could tell that to a traditional Jewish woman and have that “move the needle.” As I said, they’re clueless.

As far as going after the vulnerable, that’s why they are so prevalent on college campuses. They especially target the freshmen in their first semester, perhaps a little homesick, and feeling overwhelmed with college demands, as a good “mark.”

I see a potential solution.

Send the J for Js to Israel and offer them up as hostages to terrorists.

They want to pretend to be Jews and terrorists won’t be able to tell the difference.
